Louisiana has been a corrupt shithole since before the LA Purchase. If nothing else we’re consistent.

The Voters.

They were dumb sheep. And all of them. Black, White, Republican, Democrat.

They kept reelecting people like Huey and EWE that screamed they were for the common man while their corruption hurt no one more. Union people were blindly ignorant for voting in EWE over and over while he made Louisiana a Right-to-work state. Normally, being such a state would attract business but the need for payoff kept many of those away.

In the cities they continually re-elect Progressives who steal the money meant for those they preach to help.

The Republicans accept people like John Alario and Jay Dardenne as one of them and bend over for the Democrats if it involves making sure they keep power and their graft.

The stupidity of the average Louisiana voter is the problem.

Laissez-faire attitude and living. Turning a blind eye to corruption and accepting it as part of the culture in doing business. Nepotism.

Thomas Jefferson. We stretched from the Gulf all the way to Canada and as soon as the check cleared he started chopping us up.

Jindal was as Republican as they come. Didn’t do anything that Grover Norquist might frown at. Had 8 years and didn’t accomplish shite.

I agree with you re Jindal, but when you have a state constitution that literally makes it unconstitutional to make budget cuts to anything except healthcare and higher ed that makes it really frickin difficult to reform a broken system.
