Getting light earlier doesn't help at all, since you're not really doing anything important first thing in the morning. I'd rather the extra hour of light in the afternoon.

I'm not gonna working on anything at 5:45am, but I'm usually working on stuff in the afternoons

It's OK after you get used to the change. I do like going to work in the light of day. I prefer daylight savings time when it is warm so I can do things outside.

Daylight savings time is a sham.

Not me.

Standard time sucks, should stay on daylight saving year-round.

I don't much care, I just hate the change. Pick one and stick with it.

I kind of like it, sucks at night but I am an early riser and hate how it was still dark when I was trying to get up and walk the dog, get shite done before work

It's dark around 430 pm. Not 6 pm. Where do you live?

Standard time sucks. Gets dark at 430 here in Nashville during December. Effing sucks walking out of the office at 5 in total darkness.

This is what drove me from Chicago. Handling the cold/smow is one thing, but the early night time with hrs left in the office was freaking depressing. Especially in jan/feb.

I like how it is now.

In the summertime I find myself doing stuff outside a lot more in the afternoons - so I like it being lighter later.

In the winter I like standard time. I'm a fan of nice bright chill mornings and it getting darker sooner.

I see the good in both.

I'd like it flipped....day light savings time in the winter and standard in the summer so I didn't have to wait to run or ride so late in the day. If I had to choose one I would go with dls time year round so it doesn't get dark so early in the evening.

I love standard time...but my dogs don't quite get so they were up at 3:45 instead of 4:45

I like daylight savings time better because I like to take my dog to the park to get him some exercise after work.

I despise standard time here in the FL panhandle. It's dark by 4:45pm because we're in the CST zone.

The state approved a bill to stay on daylight saving time year-round, but it would require approval by Congress to go into effect...which will never happen.

Instead, I'd rather the panhandle join the rest of the state in the EST zone, because we'd get another hour of daylight...which will never happen either.

AZ did away with DST

On the ballot tomorrow for California. I'm voting YES. Yes to that and YES to repealing the gas tax. Everything else, NO.

I'm pretty sure, those two will be voted down and all the bond issues (read: tax increases) will get approved.

The little purple notch of Central Time in Southern Kentucky is where I grew up, basically the Easternmost place in the Central Time Zone. It would get dark at 4:30 during December.

Needless to say, places like that have no need for standard time.
