Who here LIKES Standard Time this time of the year?

It’s not dark at 7am. It’s dark around 6pm, so you can wind down at night.
Now, if I lived on the west side of a time zone, I’d love Daylight Savings Time. Last summer, I was in Amarillo. It didn’t get dark until nearly 10pm.

I’ve always liked this aspect of it. Generally get more sleep when it gets dark at 530

It takes a couple weeks to get used to it but my mid January it all feels normal.

I hate this crap. I can’t get anything done around the house on a week night, so on the weekends, I’m doing chores instead of playing golf and drinking beer like God intended.

I do.
Even as a young lad spending fall break from prep schools in Kennebunkport, it didn’t matter if Mother called me inside from outdoor activities an hour early, i was just glad to be alive in the darkness that ensconced our modest four car garage villa.

The whole country should switch to central stand or Zulu and be done with it. Everyone would adjust within a year

I love it. It's not dark when I leave and I don't really do shite after work anyway. Team standard time

I’m an early morning person so I loved standard time. Until I had kids. Takes a lot of after work play time away.

It does remind me of when I was a kid this time of the year, playing outside in the dark, but it wasn’t too late or too cold.

What it looks like with no time change in AZ:
Right now this time of year without changing the time sunrise is right before 7 am. Gets dark around 6 pm.
Summertime sunrise is 5 am, gets dark a little before 8 pm.
ETA: AZ did away with DST cause they didn't want it still being light at 9-10pm in the summertime. Too fricking hot.
Why AZ doesn't observe DST

This year, Arizona celebrated its 50th anniversary of shunning daylight-saving time. In 1968, the state Legislature voted to opt out of the Uniform Time Act that mandated daylight-saving time, a move that pushed sunset to a later hour. That was just not going to fly in a state where triple digits go on for months and residents wake up rooting for sunset.
