Who here doesn’t have Amazon Prime? Why?

I can’t imagine why you would not have Amazon prime. There is pretty much no debate that it is worth it for all of the purchasing and free shipping options alone, and then you include into it all of the television options and it just seems like something every person should have.

I go out of my way to buy everything locally. My wife and I own a small retail store. We feel it's important to support our local vendors. I only buy things from Amazon that I can't find locally.

Cancelled it about a year ago after a few horrible customer service experiences.

I do still occasionally use my mother-in-law's Prime account to order something when I can't find it through another source.

I don’t have the internet so I surely don’t have Prime.

I may buy something online 2-3 times a year. I’m a more visual person and like to see what I’m buying.

I know people who don’t, but it’s hard for me to imagine life without Amazon. Anything I need, it’s the first place I go. I haven’t been to a WalMart in ages, and maybe go twice a year.

Just looking at my history now - wind chimes, plant hangers (rope), a chef’s knife, cordless dog hair trimmers, a phone case and screen protector, phone charger for car, hard floor vacuum, a book from a chef that I preordered and had delivered the day it came out.. I mean, it’s like the minute it pops into my head that I need something, all I do it open an app.

I appreciate this stance. But man. I just hate spending two hours driving around for one item when I can have the highest rated kind of that item shipped to my house in two days.

Amazon is a monopoly that is killing small business. But damn it’s convenient.

I’ve never found the need to purchase anything from Amazon, and my TV viewing is very limited as it is. In have no desire.

ETA... sorry for not joining the Amazon cult.

ETA 2.... I also don’t buy from Walmart either. That’s got to be good for a few more downvotes.

ETA 3... Canes sucks

ETA 4 .... Sheeple.

I'm not a woman constantly buying things I don't need off Amazon. Waste of money

I do this with a lot of things, mostly food. Or small things like gifts or whatever. But sometimes it just doesn’t make financial sense.

A young guy at the local hardware store last week bought a very no-frills grill and it was $800. Same grill is nowhere near that price elsewhere. At that point, you’re really throwing away money.

As do I. But there are just far too many things I've needed that you can't get locally here.

as do I, but the vast majority of products I buy off Amazon are standard home products like paper towels, tp, toothpaste, etc and since I'm not buying those from local places (do local places still sell stuff like that anyways?)

Don't see the difference in buying something from Target or Amazon

Yeah, at least half of the items I’m seeing in my history aren’t at any local stores. Sure, I can find them in physical stores but I don’t really consider getting a knife from Williams Sonoma or getting a bestseller from Barnes and Noble to be “shopping local”.

That’s the best perk it has - you can find the highest rated item that you’re looking for and read reviews.

I’m all about supporting local business but I don’t want a shite product

Might me one of the most woman things ever said on here.

We got rid of it. My wife orders shite everyday, in the same manner you just described. "but it was only $14". So the hell what, we had no need for it. quit ordering shite and actually do some work when you're at work.

And that is exactly how they trained you. Congrats.
