I ditched it. The combination of 2-day turning into 4-day shipping and now that they charge sales tax really took away the upside.

If you don't mind me asking, where do you live? You definitely aren't the first person I've heard say their two day shipping constantly slips to the right.

Just curious because the opposite has been happening here in Cola. A bunch of things I've bought recently have gone from two day shipping, to next day.

It probably has to do with the fact we have an Amazon Fulfillment Center here.

We got one in BR and it was a cluster frick for a few months. It seems better now so maybe they've ironed out the issues.

I used to have it, but I decided to live here without internet for one month and got a million dollars so I really don't need it now.

I live in BR. I'd say 95% of the items we've bought have been in perfectly on time, if not sooner, as well. No issues with things taking longer that I can think of.

I'm also a bit overly organized, so things I order on Amazon are purchased with a lot of flexibility. I buy gifts at least a week out from the event. Or things like an aquarium filter, dog clippers, etc. are needed but not NEED RIGHT NOW type things.

I am in Birmingham, and the shipping issues is one reason we cancelled our membership. It wasn't so much that they missed the 2-day window, it was the attitude they took when we'd contact them about it. They always just washed their hands with it and blamed the carrier. I get that it was often the carrier's fault, but it's YOUR advertised policy.

Yeah, its a difficult thing to guarantee I imagine. I use Amazon for the free shipping, not the fact that it is 2 days. I wouldn't be using any website at all if I needed something in 2 days or less. I just have had too many issues totally outside of Amazon when it comes to package carriers/USPS.

I thinks he means an actual Amazon Warehouse where many of the Amazon products are stored...making same day shipping possible. Isn't the thing in BR basically just a center to help coordinate delivery?

We have prime but I don't buy a lot of things from there. Sometimes it's just easier to find what you are looking for.

I needed a pair of replacement laces for some Clarks boots recently. I could have driven to 10 stores and not found the right laces. It's definitely convenient for stuff like that.

This is what I’m saying, this is a prime is perfect for. I don’t buy nearly everything from there but it is so convenient for little things that you need. Also gifts for the wife or mom or a little things for the kid is so much easier to find thanks to Amazon prime

it made it way too easy for me to buy shite i don't need.

This. I still have my membership but gave up online shopping for lent to see what kind of an impact it would have and still haven't looked back. It's freeing, and I enjoy getting to shop locally. I highly recommend giving it up for a period of time for those of you who are quick on the trigger when you get excited about a product you hear about

It's a warehouse but I'm not sure what they keep in there. I know they are building a permanent building near Costco. We have those Amazon vans all over the place now.

But do you have same day delivery options?

If not.....you don’t have a true fulfillment center. There are like 4-5 in PHX metro. You can have items delivered within an hour to you if you wanted here. I’ve never had items that said they were 2 day items be delivered later than that. Usually they are delivered a day early.

Sounds like BR just has an Amazon warehouse for the amazon packages sent from real fulfillment centers in other states elsewhere to be processed and sent out for delivery.

We have an actual fulfillment center here but don't have the same day or two hour options. Not yet anyway. We do have next day now, which has only started be available in the past year or so.

There has also been a huge uptick in Amazon vans in the past several months.

It may be Amazon is still getting everything in place here for same day and such.

I've had a few problems when Amazon used usps, but now that Amazon ships its own products I haven't had any issues.

I like that they update you with the drivers location and how many stops before your package is delivered. Then send you a photo of it once it's delivered.

I had it for 2 years and canceled it about 6 months ago. Don’t miss it a bit. It’s incredibly over priced if you don’t use all of the services, which I never did.

amazon prime peaked several years ago.

aliexpress is the new wave and half the cost, if youre willing to wait 2-3 wks for the goods.

not surprised the ot lounge is still praising outdated services, however.

I have it but don't order enough shite to make it worthwhile.

They did get me to sign up so I could watch the Grateful Dead documentary.
