I paid 52,500 for this same truck 2 years ago, it obviously hasn't depreciated much
That car has 13K miles on it. And is being listed by a dealership (which has to turn a profit).
Call me when it sells for that.

I bought mine 2 years ago from a dealership with 7 miles on it

Even if they come off that price it still isn't close to the "15% depreciation when you walk out the door" number some posters are throwing around

At one year, our 4Runner has depreciated 7%. This is based off of the sale price and current NADA with the VIN.
So much for that immediate 15%.

1997 Jeep Wrangler Sport in 1997. 18 years later, can't say I can complain. Parts are cheap. Easy to fix. Fun to tinker with.
Got it for 19,400 in 97. So, roughly 1,300 a year, not including maintenance which is hard to figure out since I've used it quite a bit off-road. Purely parts not related to abuse, I'd say under 5,000 for those 18 years. Lifetime on most parts I've bought at Autozone/Advanced/Oreilly so I've only had to purchase once.
Overall, about 135 bucks a month (including items like seals, engine - offroad problem but I'll include, ujoints, brakes, radio, radiator, alternator, starter, top, etc) if you divide it out. Don't plan on selling it. Just replaced the motor. Touch up the paint and I could probably get 5000-6000 for it without blinking an eye. Not too shabby.

A 4x4 4 door tracker was 3k.
And a 1.5 gen xterra was 4k.
Both were/are driven nationwide.
Looking for a 4runner or sequoia currently.

Ya, but you live in MS

You keep saying this but have provided no links to back this up. And I could make that graph in MSPaint, that also proves nothing.

I was stupid and bought a new car 2 years out of school. I just had to have it.

You should've consulted with the OT. These guys buy cars that only depreciate 7% after two years of ownership.

You really sound like such a loser. Keep up the good fight though.

I bought my first new car when I graduated from college at 23. I had a sales territory that covered parts of four states.

Wait, the OP and his minions think everyone works at the local meat packing plant or Walmart. That's only 15 miles a day. Who needs a good reliable car that you might want to keep 10 years. LOL

Yep, note was 252$ a month.

Paid cash for a brand new Harley at 28 one of the happiest days of my life. Drove old arse truck though as long as it got me to A to B when it was raining that's all I needed.

I bought a 94 Tercel when I was 26 years old. My father co-signed the loan but I paid the notes off early.

I commute like 80 miles a day. Once you couple in cross country trips, I've put 34k miles on my 13 year old suv in the last 9 months.
I'd drive mine to the panama canal tonight, a lot of people with new vehicles wouldn't.
