My mom went through this and jumped on as the CEO of a Budweiser distributor in Brevard County after being in a corporate controller role.
It has completely changed her life for the better and she couldn’t enjoy it more.

Big city going through good times as there will be a shortage of Controllers, Accounting Managers, etc.
Like Houston when oil & gas is doing well.

With an MBA, you can look into really any operations type roles. Lot's of jobs posted regularly on LinkedIn.

Do you have any international finance experience, or with mergers & acquisitions? If so, CFO should be in your plans. If not, get it.
That would be my path.

Corporate internal audit or Feds
You can easily start at gs-11 with a CPA and gs-12 with a MBA
If you look at salaries, be sure to check which pay scale table you are looking at. Base is not the actual salary because locality is added. Also since you are not currently a fed employee, you can negotiate step

I hate to say this because I despise this agency, but jump on the sword for a couple years and work for the IRS, earn some stripes & learn how to really maneuver the system.
Then open up a boutique private firm and customers will flock to you knowing you’re an ex-IRS Agent.
I don’t know if it’s some urban legend or whatever, but I’ve always heard that ex-IRS guys have some sort of immunity for certai things, of course I’m sure you can’t be some outlaw, but for the most part, they don’t go after their “own”.
If I were in the accounting world, and young in my career, I think I would do that even though it’s like joining forces with the devil, but the experience might be worth its weight in gold.

At the very least, it could lead directly to a tax partner spot at a mid sized firm. Tax partners make loads and don't get saddled with Tom and Sally's 1040ez

Move to Texas, and go into private industry.

Get into forensic accounting and look into a career with Law Enforcement. May not pay as good as being a CPA, but it will establish connections and free training.

If you don’t like public, buckle up going this route. If the small company is growing or worth a shite, they’re going to work you like a dog.

I have my CPA license, my MBA, and I’m a notary for Louisiana. Any ideas on where I should try to go with my career?
Where is your interest? I've been in public accounting working for one of the 50 largest CPA firms and have owned my own CPA practice. I've also been a CFO and worked as a Chief Audit Executive and other roles in internal audit.
I enjoyed public accounting for a while but much preferred being in industry.
Now, my CPA firm is myself and my wife providing professional consulting services and fractional CFO work. I'm a partner in another company I started providing internal audit services to community banks.
Lots of options with CPA experience.
