I have my CPA license, my MBA, and I’m a notary for Louisiana. Any ideas on where I should try to go with my career?

Are you Big4 or smaller firm?

It’s a smaller firm. Not Big 4

Head for whichever direction leads to the front door.
Ever thought about getting on with a local or corporate bank?

How is that MBA working for you? My employer wants me to get a masters, they are going to pay for it, they don't really care what it is in but I was considering an MHA.

CFO for private industry. Less stress. Decent pay.

Take a manager or controller job at a small company. Then with some experience there start applying for CFO jobs

This.
I'd think with this job market finding a controller type of job for a midsize company would be very doable right now. And move up changing companies until you land somewhere you like.

No offense, but you’re really coming here for ideas? With your credentials you should have a pretty good idea what your options are. You have many depending on what you want to do.

Yes to this. Are you in audit, tax, or because it's a smaller firm do you do both? Which do you like better? If audit, single out the industries you've done the most work with and apply for Accounting Manager or Controller jobs in that industry. Get experience and then go for CFO. Not always less hours than public, but your busy season is more budget, year end, audit time, and a little a month end. As a CFO, lots more meetings.
