Working offshore on a DW platform. Had just finished a 6pm-7 am shift and came inside to see everyone watching the first tower burn. That’s when the second one hit. All the guys were talking about having to lock down the facility for security reasons. Seems pretty silly to think about now but at the time we were freaking the frick out.

Was living off Esplanade in NOLA. Had my 1 y.o. son and my wife in the car. I was headed to Touro to drop her off a work. Listening to The End and Rod Ryan broke into the commercial and essentially said, Look, I know I joke around a lot, but this is not a joke. A plane has flown into one of the towers.

Made it back to the house just in time to see the 2nd plane hit. Remember later that night, looking at my boy and wife sleeping thinking about all those families that will never experience peace again. F'ing livid then and now.

I was in a training session for my job in Denver Co.

We turned on the TV and all watched in silence except for when the second one hit. We were dismissed immediately and went home and spent the day I'm sure like most Americans that day.

Driving to the Philadelphia airport listening to Howard Stern. I left Manhattan at 3:30am Tuesday September 11, 2001 after hanging out with Rodney Jerkins after the Michael Jackson, 30th Anniversary Concert at Madison Square Garden.

Crazy stuff

I was at work listening to Walton & Johnson. Someone called in and said that a plain had flown into the World Trade Center building. My first thought was that they were talking about the one in NOLA.

Was woken up by religious family members telling me to get my life right. God was coming back soon, etc. That whole speech of it..coming right out of a good sleep.

Had just finished nursing my almost 7 month old innocent perfect daughter. I was sobbing wondering what I had done bringing children into this world. Now that they’re 27, 22 and 18, I have hope that they’ll make a difference somehow.

I was Berlin working on getting my SAP Basis Admin certification. During a break, one of the guys was surfing the web and pulled up the story.

I was the only American in the class and was overwhelmed by the enormous support that everyone offered me.

Was in Exxon working. After second tower was hit they rushed everyone (contractors) out of the plant. I made it home in Central just in time to watch the first tower collapse....to give you a time frame of how quick it all went down in Exxon that day. I was then am still a full time fireman. I knew when the building went down the loss of fireman would be great. My brother also a fireman came to my house and we watched the second tower fall. We didn't say a word to each other for about 30 minutes. It was pure shock.

How old are you man? Sometimes I think you’re mid 30’s other times I think you’re like 75.

If you had daycare kids back then I’m going to guess you’re 51 now?

Standing in line at the local post office waiting to buy stamps and mail a package and overheard a lady talking about it.

I took care of business and headed straight home and watched it unfold on TV and was sickened by what I was watching as it became evident it was intentional.

Sitting on the to floor of Middleton studying for a Calc 1552 test.

Didn’t find out what happened until my professor cancelled class and told us. The old Nokia candy bar phone is all I had.

I had started teaching at age 33 at Plaquemine High school in August and on Sept. 11th 2001, I was in a new teacher induction training. The instructors came in and told us about the 1st plane and like most people our initial reaction was a small plane accident. A little while later they came back in and said another plane had hit the other tower and that we were under attack. They cancelled the training and sent us back to our schools. When I got back to school, we had a bunch of scared kids and everyone had the TV on in their classrooms.
Was a really fricked up day and days to follow.
