When you were at LSU, what was the #1 preferred company choice for people in your major?

Was reading that Goldman Sachs has been hiring 2-3 LSU graduates the past couple years. It made me think of this question.
Every year a top company would be hiring only a few spots for new grads, whether it be from a job fair or professor in a department that was connected or something else.
For engineering it would be Exxon, Accounting would probably be Deloitte, etc.
What was the job everyone was chasing after in your declared major?

I graduated in marketing in 1984.
IBM was the dream company to work for selling those big arse mainframes back then.

Early 1990s Arthur Andersen
ETA: for those that don’t know, look it up. Never trust your company.

I have a history degree so the preferred company for my major was the used car dealership down the road. Or the insurance agency up the road. Or the unemployment line.

For my major, the big employer was ARAMCO. Then Jimmy Carter F’d up on the oil/gas shortage and those jobs dried up around the time I was going to graduate.

LSUCIA program made it pretty easy to get FTE at a number of different companies. Big 4 plus the next 2-3 major CPA firms usually had the most number of resume drops and available positions, but there were about 30-40 companies looking to staff through the program.

Enron, seriously
Had several friends who worked for them right after graduating. They’d always brag about how great a company it is, great money, 401K going through the roof, etc. Guess I got the last laugh on that one.

Graduated with two degrees from LSU, EE (2012), and MBA in data analytics and emerging technology (2022).
For EE, Texas Instruments, mainly for design verification, analog/digital design, embedded systems, and manufacturing engineering. Shell for electrical maintenance, controls, and process automation. Boeing and Lockheed Martin primarily for embedded systems, avionics, and defense electronics.
For MBA, IBM, Deloitte, Accenture, Exxon, DOW, Entergy for consulting. Amazon, Microsoft, and Oracle for program/product management.

Shell was more sought after than Exxon?

Majored in finance & vocal performance @ UGA
All the finance majors were gunning for McKinsey, Big 4, or the Suntrust investment banker program.
All the music majors were gunning for grad school & a TA job

When I studied PETE: Shell or Exxon
When I did a full time MBA: Bain, BCG, or McKinsey

I went through the program on the advice of my older bro. It was a great move. The course was pretty intense for the first semester, but it landed me with a big 4 internship. Everyone wanted big 4, but there were tons of other good options. I did "the draft" and dropped my resume with all the big 4 and Protiviti I think. 5 interviews in one day was pretty stressful.

CSB Moment:
A friend of mine was hired by them out of LSU MBA program. First day on the job was the day the SEC shut them down. A week or two later he was let go along with everyone else and an AP photographer happened to take his picture coming out of the building. That picture ended up on the cover of several major newspapers and magazines.
To answer OP, Uncle Sam was the only person hiring from my undergrad program regardless of major. No interview required! He did turn down a few for medical reasons.

Such a fun and intense process.
