So throwing more money at the problem is going to fix it? We get slightly more bang for our buck out of DOTD as we do out of our public school system.

clean up the budget. Tell me how did we build the "new" bridge in BR, or the "old" bridge in BR?

Meh. My 41 mile commute says it will take 39 minutes.

That takes i10 across the bridge and across BR to the south side.

I'm cool with that.

Tolls work too. Why can't we think outside of the "tax" box?

How do you propose we pay for infrastructure? A bake sale?

I’m ok with paying more taxes to fund the $14.5 billion dollar backlog of projects in this state.

Isn’t enough enough? Can’t we just finally pay for infrastructure and vote down taxes for everything else? It’s what I do..

The traffic around Baton Rouge is much worse than for other cities of comparable size.

The state said it would cost $120 million to replace a bridge they say is falling apart and clearly needs replacing to help with the traffic nightmare on La1 but they don’t have the money to replace something that is structurally falling apart unless a gas tax is passed

But they did find a way to fund a $320 million project that includes adding a single lane in each direction to I-10 between the bridge and the 10/12 split that is suppose to help “ease” traffic while still ignoring the single lane choke point coming off the bridge

Louisiana logic, priorities and politics ladies and gentlemen

This is pretty much all due to how I-10 through BR is designed. The interstate was designed as an intercity roadway through BR. Absolutely the dumbest thing that couild of been done and now we are paying the price for it.

Yes. I want good stuff that I use daily, but I don't want to pay for it or be inconvenienced.

Plenty of cities have interstates run through them. BR is just one of those cities that doesn’t have alternate routes.

BR deserves its bad traffic

I celebrate every day the people of BR suffer from their failing infrastructure and political shortcomings

I-10 through BR has an exit every half mile from the bridge to college drive.

It's not like his very conservative predecessor did anything to help either.
