re: "When has it ever become legal to shoot someone because they’re pulling off in your car?"

I didn’t say that he would necessarily be found guilty.
Being tried and spending $100s of thousands on legal defense then dealing with a civil suit would strip him of everything he worked so hard to get.

They’ll fall with your life being fricked because you wanna be a tough guy and not many people will feel the least bit bad about it

I guess I am not too worried about the legal defense as mine would be free....civil suit, I don't think the family would get anything.

should have stolen a car in New Jersey
New Jersey has just implemented 6 Gun Control Measures including:
—Background checks for private gun sales
—Lower magazine capacity to 10
—Residents must show "justifiable need" to get a carry permit
—No body-armor-penetrating ammunition

Well then your experience is limited.

*Note to self: Never move to Jersey*

This all day. That's with any material object that can be replaced. The only way I pull the trigger is if my life is in danger or my family is in danger. That's it.

Nah I’ll just shoot them. Texas law protects me.

No, I'm saying you're making the exact same "ya, but..." argument that others have used to blame the woman for being raped.
There is only one person at fault in either scenario: the criminal.

Here’s a fun fact. No matter the circumstances, chances are little pookie would be prepping for college right now had he not chosen to steal a car.
Actions have consequences. Sometimes the consequences are extreme and unfortunate. However he put himself in the situation where something bad could happen by making that choice.
So if you want to have a real conversation about the cause of this issue, I’ll listen on the validity of the fire chief to open fire. Otherwise, my response is simply this:

What I am saying should not even be called an argument. All of my posts can be summarized with this:
If you want to mitigate the risk of your car being stolen, don't leave it unlocked, running, and unattended.
Feel free to tackle whatever straw man makes you feel better, but if you're trying to turn that statement into an argument, you're either unintelligent or a troll.

No shite. Clearly you've misunderstood much of what I've said in this thread.

It was all fun and games when tweeter stole a running car and put his dick on the glass at the Kiwanis Club

In Texas, one can use deadly force not just to protect a person, but also to protect personal property, including to “retrieve stolen property at night,” during “criminal mischief in the nighttime” and even to prevent someone who is fleeing immediately after a theft during the night or a burglary or robbery, so long as the individual “reasonably” thinks the property cannot be protected by other means. The law has been the basis for not pressing charges against individuals who shoot and kill suspected car burglars, and an individual suspected of stealing copper wiring from a car.

For what it's worth, and only responding very specifically to your gif, it is illegal to leave your car idling and unattended in Illinois.

Probably true, but I remember the famous Joe Horn case in Pasadena, Tx. Thieves were robbing his neighbors house and he shot both of them dead in the front yard. He was cleared by a grand jury, but later said he wished he had never pulled the trigger because it basically made his life hell. Not worth it if your life isn't being threatened.

Her comments alone should be grounds for immediate sterilization, as a public service. No one that stupid should be allowed to reproduce.

This is not the majority of cases like this.
Many states, including LA and IL, are castle doctrine states with civil immunity if the shooting is found to be justified. Some of you need to actually learn the laws before putting in your $0.02
