re: When does the "it's finals week and I'm in a class I forgot about" dream stop?

I haven't had this dream in a while, maybe a year or two. I graduated in 2012. But I used to have this dream all the time.
The recurring dream I have now is about my ex-wife. I'll dream that I'm still with her, making out, having sex, or I do something like forget her birthday. Then I wake up and feel so happy that it was just a dream, but disturbed that I still dream about it. We've only been divorced for eight months though.
I definitely do not enjoy dreaming about her.

With all the commonalities and differences among us, my very informal, essentially conversational "research" suggests the dream is common to the past two to three generations in the United States and other countries with educational systems that emphasize high stakes formal written tests that determine your future academic opportunities.

For some reason I'll dream that I haven't been to a class or two in weeks and I keep wondering if I'm still in it or if I have an exam due.
I've been out of school since 2005 and I still get this. I never dream about work, but I do dream about school. Weird.

Mine was usually some elective class that I forgot I signed up for until that morning.

Fortunately, I've never had this dream at the same time when I'm having the "teeth falling out" dream.

I've been in school long enough to get a PhD, and I've never had that dream

Never
i'm 34 and still have these types of dreams. I have 2 recurring that go back to high school and that exact one about college.
#1 I have to go back to high school to finish a class i didn't take. I'm still my same age with a college degree and a job, but i have to finish that one class. That dream usually ends when the rational portion of my brain realizes that i already have a job and a college degree, who cares about a high school credit?
#2 I'm my current age yet i'm on the high school football team. I'm pumped up for the upcoming game but an hour before kickoff i remember i haven't been to a single practice, and i'm in my 30's...

The only school related dreams I have had were from pledging. Those were the worst.

I left a fast food job in high school and I still have dreams I've been missing several years' worth of shifts.

Crazy. I'm 40 and graduated LSU in 2000. I still have this dream as well. It's a class I registered for and forgot about and my whole family is coming for graduation and I can't get my diploma because of this class. Had this dream within the last year for sure and probably had it a couple times a year since graduation.

Pretty common stress dream. The more stress you eliminate in your life, the less you'll have dreams like that.

I had a dream a couple of nights ago that I was failing in school, and missing a bunch of classes without realizing it? Its a recurring dream.
I also have a recurring thing that happens in my dreams where I will jump into a body of water with my phone in my pocket.
