It will never be normal again. Hurricane Season will be the next hysteria

In Mid-April, people are going to say screw it regardless of what the government is recommending.
But, a lot of these social distancing things will end up becoming part of the culture for a long time. We'll be allowed to return to life with most of those still in place.

So you can't answer the question

You agree to stop coming to the ER with coronavirus and we’ll stop fretting over case fatality rates. Deal?

There will be therapies and profilactics that will prevent the overwhelming of our medical system by the end of April. At that time it becomes the flu and we live with it.

Why has it never been a slippery slope any of the other times businesses have been forced to close in a declared emergency?
Hurricanes? Temporary, usually for a week at most, and timelines are known.
Blizzards?
Tornadoes?
Earthquakes?
When have we ever “shutdown everything” for an indeterminate amount of time?

Hurricane season will be here before you know it.

Normal as in spending an inordinate amount of time shite-posting on the OT? For everyone here it seems like life is business as usual.

Never. Like WW II this is going to induce some big cultural and political changes that are permanent, or at least last several generations. For one thing people are going to be washing their hands a lot more, forever. Also people are going to be a lot more comfortable with democratic socialism.

The UK and Italy would like an explanation on this post since free health care has certainty not helped them.
Maybe I'm missing your point.

There isn’t much point because anything I say about the freedoms being taken you sheeple will say “Well you can live without that” or “that’s no big deal”.
You guys are conditioned to do as your told. If I had to guess some of the younger people on this board don’t remember an adult part of their lives pre-9/11.
Everything the govt becomes more involved with gets more complicated. Nothing gets simpler.
But hey, if JBE tells me where I can eat, when I get to go to church, whether my job/company stays in business that’s a ok because it’s for the greater good. Right?

Mid to end of April and things will be transitioning back to normal.
Now that testing is available the number of cases will jump, then peak, then start to slowly decline letting everyone exhale in a few weeks.

It'll "go away" over the next month or two as the weather warms up, but then I predict that when Fall rolls around it comes back with a vengeance, just in time for election season

This will start to die down end of April. By the end of May sports leagues will resume competition and concerts will begin dates again.
At least in my non medical opinion.

The answer is 18 months or until a vaccine, whichever is sooner. The second article is more informative, but cited mainstream media as well. Just google 18 months and coronavirus and there are tons of articles about this. This has me very concerned.

The President is about to write a check to every American. Maybe you didn't get that memo.

Pelosi and Shumer have been strangely quite. When they pick the “peachment” torch back up we will know it’s passed.

The "social distancing" will slow down in late April. Life will appear more normal by mid May.
If I'm wrong, it's because I'm being too optimistic.
