Maybe I’m remembering it from too much television but would that many wounds and the method lean towards a “crime of passion”? Any boyfriends ever investigated?
I listened to a podcast about this a while back so I don’t recall all the details clearly. It was definitely a boyfriend according to her family.
He’s the one that found her body I believe and he claimed the landlord or maintenance person was with him and let him in when he found her. Landlord/maintenance person has said that’s not true. They weren’t there and didn’t let him in.
Also boyfriend and his family cleared her apartment of her belongings (phone, computer, etc) so her parents couldn’t have them.

There's no way your own body will let you stab yourself like that, that many times.
I was trying to do one of those at home blood tests that require you to prick your finger with the lancet used by diabetics. It took me like 3 minutes of starting and not actually pressing before I just closed my eyes and actually did it.
There’s no way that girl did that to herself.

Yep.
The cop on audio (Auderer) was called to the scene to confirm the cop that hit her was sober. (Probably protocol). He was then on audio reporting what happened to the guild President (Solan). According to Auderer:
quote:
Auderer said that Solan had lamented the death and that his own comments were intended to mimic how the city's attorneys might try to minimize liability for it. "I intended the comment as a mockery of lawyers," Auderer wrote, according to KTTH. "I laughed at the ridiculousness of how these incidents are litigated and the ridiculousness of how I watched these incidents play out as two parties bargain over a tragedy." The station reported that Auderer acknowledged in the statement that anyone listening to his side of the conversation alone "would rightfully believe I was being insensitive to the loss of human life." The comment was "not made with malice or a hard heart," he said, but "quite the opposite."

It’s a 2016 Honda civic touring. The repairs are estimated to be 10,465 dollars.
You won’t be able to claim diminished value against your own carrier. That’s usually excluded on your own policy.
Looks like NADA for that car is $17,400. Car is totaled at 75% in LA which would be $13050 in damage. You need to find about $2500 more in damage.
Did you bring to insurer’s body shop? Bring to your own for second opinion. Also, tell them you suspect insurer is cutting corners on repairs to avoid totaling. There are a lot of items you will see on the estimate that are judgment calls made by adjuster. Some states require them to identify those (look on your estimate for this). Example, they will say we are going to repair a wheel rim instead of replace. I’d fight those judgment calls as much as you can to get the repair’s over the threshold to total the car.
Also, it’s very common for more damage to be found after they take the car apart. I’d instant on them doing that before authorizing repairs starting.

Geico told me I’d have to pay the $1000 deductible on my collision insurance and then they could go after him.
If Geico recovers their costs from him or his insurance they have to pursue your deductible too and return it to you. That could take months though before you see it (if at all, if they can’t recover from him). If they only recover part of your damage, they have to return a proportional amount of your deductible.
For example if your damages are $4000 and they only recover $2000 (50%) then you would get $500 back (50% of your deductible).

Curious how you think they will be able to keep that out?
If they claim sex didn’t happen, why can’t the lawyer’s statements be used to impeach them?
It’s not hearsay. It wouldn’t be offered for the truth of the matter (that Madison consented). It’s also a statement against interest.
There’s also no privilege. It was waived when they went on the courthouse steps and divulged that their clients told them they had consensual sex.
If I’m prosecuting, I attempt to have these lawyers removed from the case because they have now made themselves witnesses.

I’m not sure I agree with that. They have the defendants admitting there was intercourse. The lawyers stood on the courthouse steps and had a press conference and said there was consensual intercourse. Now they are going to try and say no sex happened at all.
Also, I imagine here, a rape kit wasn’t performed until the next day. She was hit at 2:50 am January 15. At that point she’s just a drunk girl hit by a car. Police have no reason to suspect sexual assault.
January 16 police talk to Carver and he tells them she was raped by the two dudes. That’s probably 30+ hours after the rape. I’m sure they will be able to explain the delay in doing the rape kit and how that could impact results. Also, may be a process for harvesting her organs that could hav compromised available DNA on her body.
I think given their own statements and the statements of their lawyers on the courthouse steps it would be stupid to try and deny sex even happened at this point. They are better still arguing consent (especially if they can convince people she chased after them when leaving the bar).
Once they try and deny sex at trial, they cant be like well, just kidding she consented.

Telling a person I’ll make sure you have a lawyer if you get railroaded.
That’s what evidence they have that he “tried” to delete evidence? I mean he didn’t even do it, they are just saying he tried?

She didn’t give them her phone number. Her own declaration says they called her back based on caller ID. Her own declaration also doesn’t say she provided her name.
Regardless, the issue is not whether she identified herself, it’s whether she misled the clerk RE who she represented. Further, did Latham ever file a motion to seal? If she thought it was pulled temporarily (as her story goes) why don’t they ever file the motion? They don’t because they were able to convince the clerk the filing party asked to have it pulled.

The article says it was performed after her death and after her organs were harvested.
This makes sense given here, at the time she was brought to the hospital and into surgery, all anyone knew was that she was drunk and hit by a car. It wasn’t until later (probably well after attempting surgery) they figured out she was with dudes, raped, and left for dead.

Will have to see the evidence as it’s presented, but seems reasonable that the blood taken at hospital will have a higher BAC than the coroner’s autopsy BAC. I imagine that measures BAC at time of death which was several hours after arrival at the hospital.
This probably isn’t the gotcha the defense is trying to make it out to be.

Benadryl is safe for your dog. Google dosage for his weight. Easy to find dosage recommendations online. If it seems to help, then as others stated it’s likely food. Change his protein and perhaps feed a limited ingredient diet (plenty of dog food available). Just make sure it’s not grain free or filled with legume fillers as that can cause heart issues.
If Benadryl doesn’t help then unlikely it’s allergies. Check in between his toes or under his paws. Is it red and inflamed? If so, could be yeast.
If so try probiotics (eating plain unsweetened yogurt can help). Make sure it’s unflavored and unsweetened as certain sweeteners can be toxic (xylitol is highly toxic). Antifungal shampoo and diluted vinegar spray can help. Vet can also write an RX

Bank One didn’t come to LA until 1996 through Premier Bank of BTR acquisition. At some point it’s disingenuous to say you’ve been banking with them for 40 years. No one has been banking with them for 40 years unless you are aNew Yorker.

That bank may have been around since 1954 and it may be that Chase acquired it through acquisition, so its predecessor ( probably Bank One and Premier) may have been there in 1954. But, in 1954 Chase was called Chase National bank and that entity was never registered to do business in the state.
Chase Manhattan registered to do business in LA in 1980. So, no way that branch was branded as a Chase in 1954.
Even in 1980’s as one poster noted it was to write mortgages in the state.

He’s not staying the don’t currently have a presence here.
