re: Now the golf channel chimes in on shallowing

He doesn’t understand what shallowing is. Scottie is shallowing in his swing. The COM moves behind the hands and the club shallows.

Well, you didn’t do a fitting for the older model. So I wouldn’t expect everything to be the same as the fitting. So you’d need to adjust expectations

Have you guys tried to adjust the club to open on the hosel settings? My R7 sat closed to me as well. Opening it up made a world of difference.
You can't open the face without lowering the loft. Which wouldn't make much sense with the mini driver unless you have the 15.5* version or want to play the 13.5 as basically an 11.5 degree driver.

Don’t they all pretty much get your swing data and input it into a formula that spits out the clubs that fit your swing the best?
That would be a bad fitter, or essentially what Club Champion does

I just read an article about him recently about being a top 100 fitter in the country and one of the best as instructing using trackman
James was huge into Trackman and the D-Plane stuff before anyone else had really started talking about it. Back when he was at Pinewood CC in Slidell

The Qi4D that was just released is a much better driver than the 35. The Qi10 is probably a better driver than the 35

Rory isn't playing this week so he will likely be in Houston or San Antonio for one of them. He's played at least one of the two the past two years. Before that, the warmup was Austin for the WBC match play.
He hasn't had a back injury all those years. Don't think he'll play if the back is bothersome

Won’t leave the Woodlands.
It’s hosting PGA tour americas Q School. Maybe they’d put a KFT event there. But that’s about it

others suggest lower usage among elite, top-50 putting ranked players.
Of course. Top 50 putters in the world probably don’t need to change to a zero torque putter…..
The putters require adjustment that most players won’t do. They’ll try the crappy stroke they have with other putters, and it’ll make no difference.
If you fight starting the ball on line, and you actually let a zero torque putter do the work, it helps.
If you have no issues starting the ball on line, there’s no point to changing.
Like all other clubs, it’ll fit some and not others

What % of pros use a tee on every par 3? I am trying to think if I’ve seen a pro just place it on grass in tournament play. I’m sure it happens.
Some guys may put it on grass with a wedge due to spin concerns, but that’s about it. Other than that, it’s on a tee. You only get 18 chances to guarantee a perfect lie, better take advantage

This just isn't true. The years he won majors, he was one of the best iron players in the world. He was #10 in SG Approach in 2015 and #2 in 2017.

Kozuma did not have a contract & finished outside of the “lock zone” (top 24). What’s the issue, specifically for OWGR?
Directly from the OWGR statement:
self-selection of players with players being recruited rather than earning their place on the tour in many cases and, in recent days, the addition/removal of players to/from teams based on their nationality rather than for meritocratic reasons.

I'd imagine kicking a guy out of the league because he's not Korean isn't a path to OWGR points.

Pretty good golf course. Greens were always great, and I know they re-did them I think last year. Used to host a Hooters Tour event every year.

They put the ball on the grass at the back of the prior divot
