this collared shirt rule is dumb because a fit person wearing a plain, fitted, uncollared shirt will look better than a fat person wearing an oversized polo from Sams

a fit person in a bathrobe looks better than a fat person in a tux

I blame UFC and bro country. College grads now dress two levels down than they should, and blue collar now doesn't even bother. Even the military dress code seems to have relaxed

people like you were born into shmedium income households and never had shite so you are self conscious about how others perceive you in adulthood because you never had shite growing up

in my house we got dressed up to make a long distance phone call
And you made it in the living room with everyone else listening to every word. My 91 year old mom still does this. I'm just glad we don't have to go to Sam Drucker's store or up Oliver Wendell Douglas's telephone pole to talk.

The stiff collared shirts to wear a tie with would not have passed any of my office dress codes from the 80's and 90's. Even in 2010 we had to wear a coat, tie, full placket front dress shirt and leather/simulated leather shoes to go see customers. We could wear a company polo if we were going to be in the office all day. If I did that I had a coat , a tie and a dress shirt in a hanging bag every time just in case.

Why not just spend 1/3rd of that & look good instead? Size & fit are waaaaaay more important than brand & price tag

I dress comfortable. I only dress up for special occasions or business purposes because I'm not gay.

The pride I put in my appearance is not being obese.

Dressing comfortable > dressing to impress random frickwits at grocery store or airplane

Only time I put on a collared shirt is a wedding, funeral, golf outing, or church

Tshirts are for sleeping in and working out. When you get up in the morning you put on a collared shirt.

geniuenly why? modern golf polos are just athleisure with a collar on it, maybe instead of a plane shirt they have some stupid design on it

Much like diet coke, i have never seen a fit person with robust rhoback wardrobe

Collared PFG shirts don’t really count

The fact that some of you get so emotional on a free message board named after cat feces that you have the option of not visiting while talking to complete strangers will always be amusing

Sadly, the old tired ‘you’re so dumb’ insult (which admittedly is all that you have since you know little to nothing about my, or anyone else’s physical appearance or other traits) is mind numbingly dull.

a grown man should wear a collared shirt and long pants in public and got downvoted

Because that is stupid, you want me to wear long pants when I go to the pool at the club? Am I allowed to stop at Fresh Market on the way home, or do I have to pass up the grocery store go home, change my shorts into pants, and then go back to the store?

ETA: on the other hand, if I’m leaving from my house to go somewhere other than the gym or pool, I’m wearing a collared shirt.
