Remember growing up in South Louisiana as a kid and cutting the grass weekly . Seemed like it just grew and just mowed no issue. Fast forward 30 plus years later living in an HOA community and trying to keep the Sh*t from dying from fungus/disease, wrong PH , getting overrun with every weed know to man and those dam moles digging it up. I have unwillingly had to learn proper PH techniques , various chemicals for fungicide treatments and setting traps for moles. First world problems i know but getting ready to pull it all up and layout the artificial turf. Anyone else have lawn issues? probably not since probably the only one on the OT that doesnt have a Lawn crew/personal gardener taking care of their yard.

Maybe when we started seeing other people's nice lawns on the internet and then caring much more?

I'm starting to lean toward my dad's philosophy: If it's green, it's grass. Makes it a lot easier to maintain

Nope. I remember having the same issues as a kid/teen in the 80s/90s.

Exactly. Never did we ever fertilize the lawn when I was growing up. Push mower through THICK st Aug on a summer day and water from the hose pipe.

Neighbor kid mows mine when the yellow dandelion flowers start showing up. Yard is mostly rock anyway.

Yep, like minds think alike. I don't give a rat's azz about my grass other than to cut it at least once a week to keep it looking neat.

Weeds in the lawn-------so what.

Three different grasses making up my lawn------it's still green and needs cutting.

It's dying back and could use a good watering--------wait until it rains and until then, it grows slower and needs less cutting----------win/win.

Anyone who thinks about their lawns beyond what you said here is either gay or ruled by a woman

I still just cut my grass weekly and by the end of the summer most of the weeds are invisible. Rinse and repeat. The shite ain’t hard except for Mr Jones

When your neighbors torpedo grass grows over into your lawn and vegetable and flower gardens.

This shite is all up in the flower beds and you can’t make it go away. I read somewhere that fire is an actual solution.

I live in the country so if it’s green it’s good enough for me
If it’s brown it’s better
