Fedex is a complete shite show.
I NEEDED a package delivered this past Tuesday. I have called FedEx no less than 25 times.
They have promised delivery Tuesday, then Wednesday, then Friday, then today. But its not coming today.
There are several more screwed up details.
They are completely incompetent.
Do yourself a favor and never use FedEx.
I never will again
Rant over.

They all suck. UPS had my package in my city, them sent it to another city in another state only to return it back to my city where it was delivered 2 days later

Around 7 years ago, I ordered a trainer version of the Sig M17, which is an air pistol.
Fedex was the shipper, and they delivered during the day. At the time I was working in an office.
They wanted a signature for the delivery. After a couple failed delivery attempts, I called the local Fedex hub and asked if I could go there, sign for the package and get it.
No. There was no explanation given, just that I couldn’t go to their place with photo ID and claim my delivery.
Their driver finally just left it on my porch after a couple more days.

Wait and see who delivers it.
Thats your baseline from the top down.

All shipping companies just turned to crap during Covid. They never recovered..

Almost everything that was good seems to be shite now.

I breathe a sigh of relief whenever I buy something and it says it’s being shipped by UPS because FedEx couldn’t figure out how to pour water out of a boot if the instructions were written on the heel!

I think this is every industry to be honest. Everyone learned how to survive with less employees so they just adapted at the expense of reputation.

Black friday 2 years back i had an AR going to my ffl. It too had a signature requirement. Not only was there no signature, they had 0 proof of where they left it. Gun store was closed when i arrived later that same afternoon, with a note in the door about being sick and out of office. So now I'm even more suspicious of who allegedly received my package. Fedex sure af wasn't about to account for it.

Ahh, the old anecdotal evidence generalized to apply to an entire company that has 100,000 employees and deliver 200,000,000 packages OVERNIGHT per day. That’s good evidence. Short the stick! Go long UPS! All because you didn’t get your package delivered this nice. You probably stand in front of the microwave and yell at it to hurry up. You probably missed the deadline anyway.
Do you know what a miracle it is that we even expect this service? It used to take a month to mail something across the country. The Po y Express was only in existence for 18 months before the transcontinental railroad opened.

They figured out that they only needed to be slightly better than the even worse, USPS. They gave up trying to out compete UPS.

They constantly walk the package all the way up to my porch and can’t walk 2 steps to put it by the door. Everything gets wet.

Their insurance is a complete scam. I shipped something that arrived broken to hell but I purchased the shipping insurance so thought I was good. They wanted photos of the item before packaging, pictures of the packaging, pictures of the box it was shipped in, photos of the broken item, photos of the delivered box, etc.. Then they still deny your claim.
Basically if you don’t bring your item to a FedEx shipping center and pay them to package your item, they aren’t covering any insurance claims. Oh and just a look into their pricing, I tried shipping a deer skull mount from Arkansas to Nebraska and they wanted $243.00 shipping. Note that $205 of that was for them to pack the item. I told them they were insane

Continual cost cutting that always results in higher prices for worse service.
My small business ships and receives a lot of packages.
USPS and UPS on average over a ton of packages are so much more reliable that I avoid Fed Ex as much as possible.
USPS is the go to because they're so much cheaper and, not perfect, but just as good as UPS over time.
