Omg yes to this …. I was playing online poker on Bovada … this is after
Party Poker was shut down to US players in 2006 and I had moved to Pokerstars until it was shut down for U S players in 2010. The only site left was Bodog which became Bovada . I had won 10 grand in a poker tourney there in 2013 , and it was getting so hard to get dollars in and out of your account that I had virtually quit playing . Bovada sent me an email and then called me about switching to bitcoin , and using bitcoin as my means of funding my account. It was going to be a little bit of a hassle and with the declining pool of players ( I only played tournaments and in order to win a sizable chunk of cash , a lot of players are needed to play in any particular tournament ) I just totally stopped playing. If I would have spent 1000 on bitcoin and just sat on the freaking money …. What a regret that is …

Pretending to be someone I wasn't during college and losing out on a set of friends that are still close to this day. We were still friends, roommates, etc but by not being my authentic self and trying to fit in with other crowds, I'm not nearly as close with them today as they all are with each other.

Too many to list. Only seriously fricked up people have no regrets. That's basically an admission that you are a sociopath.

Opening this thread.
Everybody has regrets whether they admit it or not. I find peace in gaining comprehension, understanding, and wisdom when analyzing the reasons for mistakes.

What’s your biggest regret?

Not developing good eating habits sooner in life. In my 20s and early 30s, I had decent stretches where I ate pretty poorly and my weight yo-yo’d at times (anywhere from 180-240 for a period of about 4 years). Forget about consistent exercise during that time too.

It wasn’t until about a little over a year ago (age 34) where I’ve started being much more mindful of what is going in my system and developing consistency in my nutrition and exercise regimen. I feel like I’m in the best shape of my life now at 35 but I wonder what could have been if I started this 5-7 years ago.

Damn man, what distracted you?

At the time, I had 3 kids, youngest less than 2 and a stressful job. I wasn't exactly tech savy and it was kinda tough to figure out. My life was one big distraction.

I've convinced myself that I would have bailed early and taken profits when the price doubled or I would have lost the thumb drive. Chances of riding it to wealth would have been slim.

Still daydream about it occasionally.

ETA-Second regret is not registering for TD when I lurked for years. I only had free emails which weren't allowed and I wouldn't use my work email to register. I would have so much more internet cred now.

One of my biggest regrets was not buying Amazon shares on the day of its IPO in 1997 when it was priced at $18/share on May 15, 1997.

If I had bought $5,000 worth of AMZN back then, it would be worth $12,592,728 today.

I'd say I wish I had taken college more seriously and got my mental health on track freshman year, but then I wouldn't have met my fiance.

My biggest regret is that I have a hard time letting go of them when I know it's a waste of energy.
