Duh. Haven’t you ever heard of thanksgiving?

Who can keep track. It’s been a nonstop tantrum since 11/16

The Indians were basically illegal immigrants. They had no paperwork to be there, whereas Columbus had a papal bull and a writ of sealing from the queen

In fact most illegal immigrants today are descended from Indians

Will you call yourself a terrible person then because there's almost a 100% chance people 400 years from now that's how people will view you.

Nice try, but theres a 100% chance i have not and will not ever participate in murder and slavery.

Do you not understand what "being a decent human being" meant then is not the same as today?

Those people - both conqueror and conquered - lived by a very different moral framework - one in which "being a decent human being" according to your standards had zero reference - than someone like you who was raised in 20th and 21st century America

I get that it totally had a different definition back then. But wrong is wrong, and I will not ever excuse it or look past it.

But how do you know what people 400 years from now will consider a terrible person?

And I guarantee there is something you do today, that 600 years from now will be seen as barbaric and horrid, assuming western society still keeps progressing. Which I don't think it will.

Killing, enslaving and torturing people for no reason at all is something that is always a terrible thing. No matter what time period.

Well it wasnt considered that as recently as about 200 years ago.

People will say the same things about things we do in 500 years. Are you stupid or just too fricking dense to understand that?

Eta: and the lines of right and wrong are blurred when it's either enslave and kill or be enslaved and killed. Obviously slavery is wrong, I don't know one person that thinks otherwise, but that shite wasn't so simple then.

Exactly. 200 years from now intentionally misgendering someone will be the equivalent of forible rape.

Morality on these such as gender, gay marriage, alcohol use, monogamy or polygamy changes.

Morality on murder does not change. Just because other folks said it was ok to murder someone back then does not mean it was ever really ok. It just so happens to be that the world was filled with murderous psychopaths. That's a big deal. Whether or not we call Bruce, Bruce or Kaitlyn is not nearly the same.

I understand your argument completely, but I think you're missing the point that others are trying to make.

Slaughterhouses, excessive waste, and excessive fossil fuel consumption are sure to be considered barbaric in the upcoming centuries

The passage would then read "a great light" and not two.

Well, it in fact does. The duel was an honorable act not all that long ago.

Not to you, but it might be in the future.

By the way, you answered my earlier question, you're too stupid.

Morality on murder within the in-group has not changed, but morality on whether or not it is acceptable to kill and displace members of an out-group has.

He's not stupid, he's just emotionally invested in this topic, and I understand why.

But that's the problem with debating a subject when you're emotionally invested...reason and logic go out the window.
