Their minor league ballpark next to the highway is actually pretty nice, but everything else is still goddamn depressing.

They've reliably voted hardcore Democrat for decades, so I guess it isn't surprising it sucks.

Out of the cities I have been to, Ferriday is at the top. When the local PD warned me not to stop at any traffic lights due to carjackings, I knew it would be a long month.

Yes BPT sucks but there's at least 2 neighborhoods that are decent in every city. And the close proximity to NYC makes up for it some. But yeah I wouldn't want to live in BPT..m Stamford, Norwalk, Milford, Fairfield are all better options by a lot.

Scary Gary is the most goddamn depressing place I’ve ever seen. I’m pretty sure they filmed The Book of Eli there.

You've clearly never been there. It's not even in the top 50

I forgot about Boston. It's not that bad in the ways that most of the OT thinks about, but it's cold, depressing, dark, damp, and asocial.

For all you coonasses who act superior about Jackson, just remember the 1st Law of Nature:

Jackson is Baton Rouge in 20 years

20 years ago, Jackson was a pretty awesome place then it went the way of Memphis. The same thing that happened in Memphis happened in Jackson, and it’s been happening in Baton Rouge for a while.

First, the democrats take over city hall.

Second, property taxes skyrocket so the elected officials can use that money to fund the unemployed lifestyle of their constituency.

Third, the people funding that lifestyle, white home owners flee to the suburbs to escape the city limits and the taxes that come with them.

Lastly, real estate values crash, there’s no money for anything and those people still don’t have jobs, and the businesses they decided to tax to make up the revenue all haul arse too.
