If you go to Pocorellas, be prepared for them to get pissed off when you ask to purchase something from their store and not be grateful for your purchase. Anthony’s will smile, hug you, and thank you.

I think Pocorellas is a great store, but their ATTITUDE is on a level with pissed off Popeye's employees, and that's most of the time - I just don't understand what they are thinking - I don't go to Pocorellas any longer, I stopped going to Popeyes for the same reason, Attitude, and I'm about to write off going to 2 Mary Lee's locations for the same reason - Attitude.

I don't know about Pelosi, but Harris looked like she was holding in a massive paint peeling fart the entire speech-
I buy at Rouse's - they have fresh and frozen seafood and the pricing is as good as you can find

Has anyone tried the Lunches at Calandro's on Perkins? They have Fried Catfish/or Fried Shrimp, Potato Salad, and Coleslaw or French Fries for $10.99 every Friday and I would like to try.
my favorites:

either fried or scrambled, then put on white bread with mayo, a slice of tomato and a sliced pickle - great sandwich

sunny side up put on top of a big scoop of white rice and mixed up - this is also great using a scoop of jambalaya

LDW&F has a recipe for Sweet Potato Pecan Pie in their Seafood and Wild Game Cookbook (1985) - this is always 1 of the pies that has become a tradition at my home for the Holidays

When I shopped at the one in Seattle, I thought it was a store for the gays.

I thought that was a requirement to live on the West Coast - especially in the PNW in Portland and Seattle

when Ronnie’s has a good batch they are head and shoulders #1. When they have a bad batch they are last

agree with porkys too. They are really good

What is it with Ronnie's? You are correct that sometimes they are great and other times the skin part is so hard that you could crack a tooth. Since you can't see in the back are different people making the cracklings? I've encountered the same problem at Bergeron's in Port Allen (Lobdell) and also the one by the Tangier Outlet. That's a major part of a good crackling - getting a good POP on the skin the 2nd time it is cooked - also at @ $20 lb for cracklings I hate to throw away the can't eat (hard) ones, but I dental repairs are more expensive so,...

I've had good cracklins at Benoit's in Addis and also at Riverside Specialty Meats in Plaquemine - my go to used to be Charlie T's in Breaux Bridge but there is no way I any longer would consider a trip from BR across the Atch. Spillway to BB for crackling - daily 18 wheeler collisions that shut down the Interstate can turn a 45 minute trip each way into an all day round-about adventure.

Satsuma, Tangerine, Orange, and Meyer Lemon trees all produced last year - all the trees are healthy looking but did not produce any blossoms
The last time I was in a Subway I noticed the place had a funky kind of odor - I left without ordering and haven't been back to subway - still not sure what I was smelling -

I can’t believe what I am reading. Does nobody else eat chili with rice?

Yep-- Shanghai Jimmy's Texas Chili Rice - I use the recipe printed many many years ago in the Dallas History forum - I'm not even sure if the place is still open since Jimmy died in 1990.

For take out China Star

Thanks, I'll try them - place and menu looks good - I've been going to China Taste (Highland/Staring) for a long time, but they stopped all dine-in eating, the food is not quite the same as before (up and downs), and the interior is getting a weird 3rd world feel when you walk in, and the open hours are not always what they list - you can see into the kitchen and... anyway, the China Star is close so I'll give it a try for take-out -
A definite sign that can't be ignored -we need to spend trillions of dollars more on human infrastructure!!
It's being reported that Gabby was 22 yo, how old was the the BF Brian? The guy looks like he is in his mid to late 30's -
I have $100 bet that Milley "suicides" before the end of the year.

My yard in Baton Rouge (Kenilworth Area)is small and consists of mainly flower beds and larger areas of monkey grass (gets full of nutsledge) - in the past I've done all my own weeding, mulching, planting in the prepared beds, but due to health reasons I am just not able to work in the yard like in the past. Does anyone have a recommendation for an individual or a company that would do this type of landscape maintenance? Probably once a month to pull weeds and general maintenance in the fall and maybe twice monthly in the spring/summer. TIA
Northern Tool has inverter generators - years ago I bought a 3000w "PowerHorse" from them to be used for tailgating, but, its has seen more use from ice storm, sudden power loss in EBR for no reason, hurricanes - I'm not sure of the availability of any generator at this time, but they do ship directly to your house -

I just got the 11500W champion unit ($1100) also. I added a hard start capacitor to my AC unit ($110) to help with startup surge. It runs my 4 ton Ac unit and everything else in my house (2100 sq/ft living)except water heaters. I will have to flip flop between ac and water heaters when needed. It was only drawing half the power when I tested it Saturday.

I have a similar set up except a 5 ton AC - when the unit kicks on it momentarily kicks off the lights and tv - did the hard start solve this issue? Who did you call to install the capacitor? Thanks for posting about this -

question - is the capacitor called a "hard start" or a "soft start? as I have seen both terms used

I find the time of the Address a little strange, but I don't believe he is doing it to inform the American people of anything - This is in some way going to be addressed to All the leaders in countries around the world - we are currently a wounded animal and I hope he can somehow find a way to project some strength - or look out for a homeland attack in short order!
