Got to be Philly right now.

I don't know about the worst but god damn I hate Orlando.
yes yes yes
If you want to see inner city rot and decay, go to Baltimore or Gary or whatever
If you want to see middle-class decay and the decline of "normal" America, go to Orlando

If you can't have fun in Orlando, you can't have fun

While Beaumont isn't a great city it is far from the worst. There are some nice old neighborhoods, the big thicket is just 30 minutes north and has tons of hunting, fishing, canoeing, hiking. And 30 minutes south is the gulf with great fishing and while not a great beach, good enough.

Orlando's a good candidate. So is Phoenix. You can find 2-3,000,000 people in either conurbation who've never placed a beverage on a coaster or written a "thank you" note.
suburban Vegas is also in this category

Big cities - Newark

You could have just said Newark and had NJ for the big one and Delaware for the small one.

While I find your intentions honorable, even the idea to defend Beaumont as quality means one's standards are so poor to begin with.

Why would you say Vidalia when Ferriday is ten minutes away and looks like Liberia in places?

Maybe so, but I've traveled a fair bit and been in cities that make Beaumont seem like paradise. Hell, lake charles is such a town.

soccerfüt, I've enjoyed your style for a few years now, but in all honesty...somewhere between Gladys and north of College.

Man that’s harsh. Liberia don’t deserve that.

Youngstown, Ohio is a massive shithole too.
It is, but it's not the worst in my opinion. Trenton, New Jersey is.
And for the record, Beaumont isn't even the worst city in Texas. Port Arthur is. It's so shitty they drag out chain link barriers to block off the streets at night downtown.

Trenton, New Jersey
Just being the state capital would have to give it something over other Jersey shitholes
