I think I could maybe do around 2000, but that is pushing it. I like my space.

1500-2000 depending on the layout and need 2 bathrooms.

Wife on the other hand, it's never be big enough. Got to have 3 spare rooms for guests that might come once a year.

Smallest home I have ever owned or lived in is 1200 sq ft, which is about the smallest I would want to live in.

We lived in a 1400 sq ft house with a family of 4 for 7 years. It wasn't bad. Now we have 2500 sq ft with 3 people.

I was pretty insistent on getting a 4 BR on our current house so we could have two guest rooms. They have gotten a good bit of use, mostly my Mom and sister coming to visit but other friends and family as well.

First house we lived in was less then 1K. At the time, there was a oil boom and renting was impossible around here.

I could easy do 1K now.

3 kids, so it would need to be 3 BR, 3 bath, and I need an office. My guess is that means 2200 sqft or so would be our floor.

Myself, my wife, my child, and my two dogs all live in a 1500 ft² house right now and it's not terrible yet, but we're talking about having another child soon and really want more space. I work from home and need office space, and we have virtually no entertaining space, but we like to entertain.

Pretty small. I would like to live out in the country with a shotgun style house. With a nice outdoor patio area.

ETA: And a workshop.

This is where I'm headed. Just got the last kid out of the house. Currently looking at a little house on the river with about 4 acres. House is about 1600 sq ft.

We had 3 kids in our 1550 SF home. It was cramped with all their stuff and my wife working out of the house. We were in there for about 2 years before going bigger.

I keep telling myself I could live in a tiny house but I’ve only seen them on tv/YouTube. Maybe one day

That’s a lot of squares per foot.

When I was a kid we had a family of 5 in about a 1500 sq ft house. That was a pretty standard sized starter home in the 1970s and prior.

Right now with a teenage boy and girl in the house, 3BR, 2BA is the minimum. I'd day around 2,000 square feet at the minimum.

Once kids are gone, I could like in a one room shack for all I care. That's our plan at least - vastly simplify our lives, downgrade the house size, and enjoy life on our terms. The only thing I'll require is a gas stove with decent counter space in the kitchen and maybe a screened in porch.

Currently in a 2,600 sq ft 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom house with a large playroom/office upstairs. Me, wife, and two kids. We use every sq inch every day. I would like to go bigger.
