In college I was awakened from a drunken stupor, naked, with a good looking young lady, by what I assume was her brother or boyfriend standing over me with a pistol pointed at my head. Needless to say I grabbed my clothes and got the hell out of that apartment...

I watched a young driver almost flip her toyota 4Runner swerving to avoid a dog on the interstate at night.
We were traveling at hwy speeds when this damn dog comes out of the pitch black onto the highway. I was in right lane and saw the dog before it entered the road and slowed down. She did not see the dog until it ran right in front of her on the left lane. She slammed on her brakes and fishtailed from one side of the interstate to the other, then entered the median sideways. Luckily the median was very muddy and the SUV slid. She could have easily flipped
I pull over and run to the SUV and find an 17-18yo girl hyperventilating, crying uncontrollably, and shaking profusely. As upset as she was, she probably didn't fully understand how close she came to dying that night.

forgot about another scary event.
Woke up from a dead sleep at 3am choking and unable to breathe. It felt like someone shoved a wet kitchen sponge down my throat. My wife (at the time) freaks the hell out/calls 911 as I turn blue. I manage to stand up, hunch over and place my hand into my mouth to see if I can clear the blockage.
My Palatine Uvula had swollen from an allergic reaction and I was able to pull it out of my throat, clearing my airway.
I had to remain hunched over with the Uvula hanging into my mouth until paramedics hit me with an epipen.
That was 20 years ago. I have not had an allergic reaction since that day nor had I ever had one to that point in life. Cause unknown.

They used to do this in an attempt to rob people. No idea why they thought jumping out in the road after the bars closed was a good idea, but they did it.
Happened to me in New Orleans, but thankfully I was with my friend that was a cop. As soon as he showed his badge everybody scattered.
I think the scariest thing I can remember is when I was little and riding my big wheel down my parents driveway into the street right in front of a truck. I remember it clearly and I am not sure how I was not hit.
I think I have looked both ways every time since.

My other scariest moment was north bound on I-49 just north of Opelousas. I was in a little S-10 and hydroplaned. I was doing about 70MPH in the left lane with a log truck beside me in the right lane. I just knew I was about to spin underneath his trailer. I luckily wound up in the median without flipping or hitting anyone else. However, doing a 720° spin while going 70MPH will make you change shorts...

This happened circa 2006. My unit was deployed to Ramadi Iraq. We were doing normal route clearance dismounted combat operations when a nearby unit of the 1st cav needed backup when they came under fire clearing a housing complex. My fire team went into a house after covering the exit doors from the rear of a house. When I led my fire team into the house we came across a family that was executed by the Mujihadeen. Four members, including two teenage boys and a middle aged women were bound and shot in the back of the head and were missing their faces from the front. I never saw so much brain matter and blood on the floor in my life. It was a horror show. The elderly man that was in the group was bound and his throat was so severely slashed from ear to ear, his windpipe and spinal cord were bent almost at a 90. Both his eyes were drilled out with some type of power drill I assume. To this day, I still have nightmares about that operation and will never forget the brutality these camel frickers are capable of.

hydroplaned
The wife and I were coming back to Baton Rouge on Easter Sunday in 2015, driving south on I-49 through a torrential downpour just south of Natchitoches. My 4Runner hydroplaned, sending us spinning off the interstate and down into the median, with me furiously turning into each spin as we fishtailed back and forth.
Thank God the median was slick from rain water, or I'm certain we would've rolled a dozen times. I'm also thankful the median was at its widest point, or we might've ended up in the northbound lane.
When we finally came to a stop all the way down at the bottom of the median ditch, I checked to make sure the wife was okay, then drove back up to the southbound lane got back on the road. I didn't go over 55 mph the rest of the way home...

I was pretty scared right before my second seizure. Knew it was coming, so I called da amberlamps. 911 operator was talking to me saying some shite that I didn't understand. I put the phone down, laid in my bed, and had a seizure. Picked up the phone and continued the conversation like I had just dialed 911, and she kept telling me I had already told her all of this shite. Cops showed up first, and then paramedics. One was a good looking chick, so I tried to pretend nothing happened, but I didn't know my name, social, the date, etc. I was able to figure out I was in BR because I saw Tiger Stadium. Other than that, nothing for about 6 hours. It was a damn good workout though.
Freaky feeling knowing that you are going to pass out in a couple of seconds, and there's a chance you might not wake up. I've gotten used to it now, and it doesn't scare me anymore. Back then, it wasn't that much fun.

Woke up around 3am one night when I lived in Wilmington with this huge black dude standing over my bed. One of my roomies had left the front door unlocked and he was high on crack and just walked in.
When I woke up, I was obviously startled and scared as frick. Then he starts undressing and says, "I've been watching you sleep for a while." I seriously thought I was going to die that night.
Another roommate heard me talking and said she could tell I was terrified by the sound of my voice and then she heard him. She called 911 and the police got there before he actually did anything to me other than scare the holy fricking hell out of me. I just kept thinking, "THIS is how I'm going to die? Really???"
Needless to say, I wanted to kill the roommate who left the damn front door unlocked. Hearing that guy tell me he'd been watching me sleep for a while was just freaky as hell...especially with him actively undressing at the same time.
Yeah, but Cecil was a really good running back.

When I was twelve I saw two guys shoot it out in the street. One guy won. The other guy lost, for good.

About 2 years ago, me and the wife took our 2 daughters to our neighborhood pool to swim. About 2 minutes after we got there, I was putting sunscreen on the kids and heard the worst scream ever. Turned around and saw this girl, probably in her 20's, carrying this younger girl (around 10-12ish) who was slumped over, through the pool. Apparently, they were seeing who could hold their breath the longest and the little girl had a seizure of something underwater.
I immediately called 911, and ran over to the edge of the pool to help get the girl out. We got her out of the water but she was unresponsive, blood coming out of her mouth, and eyes rolled back. Luckily, there was a guy at the pool that used to be a paramedic and he worked on her until paramedics showed up. She had crapped herself which is usually a sign that you saw the light.
Fortunately, they were able to save her. I don't think my heart stopped pounding for an hour after than happened.

I was walking out of the woods one night after hunting by myself, I was like 11-12ish so I had just started hunting alone. I saw a deer late and I couldn't tell if it was a big enough buck to shoot but I took my safety off anyway (big fricking no no) and forgot to put the safety back on and climbed out of the stand.
Well I'm walking through the woods to the road for my dad to pick me up. And my rifle gets caught on a small branch or some shite. It was caught on the trigger. And I didn't know where it was caught on the rifle at the time, so I yank hard enough that the trigger pulls and fires about an inch from my head. It was so close to my head that my hat flew off and I couldn't hear anything out of that ear for a solid 30 minutes.
I just dropped to my knees and thanked God that the muzzle never moved when I yanked on the rifle.
