IMO it is never okay to leave your car at a gas pump, if you are not pumping gas. I invariably pull up to the perimeter of the store when I am done pumping. Common courtesy.
What if there are 35 open gas pumps?

Pull up to pump
Pump gas while doing the peepee dance
Move car to parking spot after fueling
Go piss

It's just a gas station. .
If people are waiting for a pump, pull up. If not, keep it at the pump.

If they are busy, I park on the side and go in with the family and do our thing then go to the pump before leaving. We have been through there at 3am a few times and they have 100 pumps opens so it doesn't really matter at that point.

Fill up with gas. Move to a parking space. Go inside.
That is, unless your name is Richard, or it's 3am.

Park your car and go in first, take your time get a burrito, brisket sandwich, a pair of Costa’s, nut tray, fudge, beef jerky, and some frozen bacon wrapped quail (very good on the smoker). Then load that shite in your vehicle with your Buc-ee’s own cream soda the size of a hot water heater. Next, drive to pump and fill up then leave.

Ditto (it took 3 pgs...)
Park. Go shop first, you miscreants.
When done shopping, get back in your car. Go fill up. Leave the premises.
Good grief.

Fill up then move you car to an actual parking spot if you're going in. You know, the same thing you should be doing at all gas stations? If you're not pumping gas you shouldn't have a car sitting at a pump wtf people...

This is what I have done the few times I have been to the ones on the gulf coast. Park first and take the wife and kids into the store to shop, use bathroom, etc. Then hit up a gas pump on the way out and leave.

Any idiot who leaves their car at the pump is a lazy frick... Move it to a regular parking spot... My biggest pet peeve ever...

Park in a parking spot.
Posted on 7/3/25 at 10:34 am to DTRDude
I could've said the same thing, but it is more fun to say that I'm a POS that leaves his car at the pump and watch the fricktards in here lose their shite.

No.
Your car should be at the pump if you are pumping gas. If you aren't, move it.
This is the rule at any fuel station and people who do not follow it are worthless lazy shitbags and I hope they get diarrhea for a week.

I'm disabled so I move my car closer to the store. It means less hobbling along on the walker

At any bigger / busy gas station or truck stop you pump your gas and move to a parking-spot. It’s a total jackass selfish move to leave the vehicle just sitting there after its finish pumping gas.
At a smaller corner one, you have enough time to go grab a bag of ice while it’s pumping.

Move your car when you’re through pumping/paying.

Pump gas while my family goes inside
Move my car closer to the entrance
Shop, spend too much money
Don't profit

Pull up and leave your truck running, put gas nozzle in then clip it so it keeps filling.
Tell the ole lady and kids to sit tight, run in take a shite, grab some beef jerky, sandwiches, some beaver nuts then back before it stops filling.
If they say you forgot something say "well you should have gone in" then drive off
