Mid 80s, Waterland USA Houma, La, I come down the Sonic Chute, skipping across the pool, attempt my little stunt on the boogie board, wipeout as usual, stand up and there’s a Fanny pack floating in the pool, no identification, don’t remember how much was in it, but that was definitely the best day I ever had at ole Waterland USA

Found a 100 dollar bill once

Sitting in a Burger King I watched a man drop a wad of cash as he climbed into his truck. By the time I got outside he had already pulled out. It was something like $70 if I remember correctly.
Buddy of mine has a great story of a thief who ditched a bag of cash he just stole from a bank behind a grocery store. He threw it out and window of his getaway car right in front of him while he was taking out the trash and cash went everywhere. My buddy spent hours picking up thousands in stolen money only to not get a cent of it.
I hope he at least stuffed a $20 in his sock.

Not cash, but found a pick 3 on the floor of a gas station and it was a $500 winner.

My wife and I found a couple hundred bucks on the ground in Nashville. We were young at the time and didn’t have a lot of extra cash. We had a great time that night!

$500 voucher left on the ground at Saratoga. Asked a few people around but didn't mention the amount. Nobody claimed it.

Get going down the road and I unfold it... it was a Bible tract made to look like cash.
Does that ever work?
"I was a drunk who spent all my money on whores and booze, but one day I got tricked by a fake $20 into reading a Bible verse. And that was all it took to turn my life over to Jesus."

Not on the ground but went to put a dollar in a car wash machine and a 20 bill rotated back out.

We were in Bentonville one time and we noticed money blowing down the shoulder of the road so it was like the money machine with the wife and kids grabbing money.
I think the haul was $30-40 bucks.

A lot. In the late 90s I worked at a movie theater. The hotel across the street was owned by a record company.
One night we were cleaning out a theater and found $2000 and another $500 in gift cards. We turned it in to the manager - he called the hotel to inquire about any possible guests we could’ve had.
After two weeks, those of us who were cleaning split the money.

As a student at LSU, I found a wallet outside of my Brightside apartment. It was open and several credit cards were on the ground adjacent to it. Inside was over $150 in cash. I located the guys phone number in the phone book and called him. He and a friend came over to pick it up and the friend said to me, “dude, you have kept the cash”.
No way I could do that. As a 16 year old, I had $200 in my wallet going to the mall to buy sunglasses (Varnets btw - what happened to them?) and I dropped my wallet at some point. How, I don’t know. A couple returned it to my house with all of the cash in it.

I was 20 years old and moving from my parents (end of Highland Road) house around 8 miles down highland to an old house close to the corner of Lee Drive and Highland. I was moving a desk for my room Ian’s had it in the back of my pickup truck. I totally forgot I had left all my LSU football tickets in the drawer in that desk. This is back in summer of 2006 (for 2006 season) when LSU student tickets were paper tickets just like regular tickets so they couldn’t be easily replaced on a phone like they are now. I also had bought away game tickets for the entire 2006 season so all those tickets were in the envelope as well. Also had a couple hundred bucks in the envelope as well.
Needless to say when I got to my new place I remembered the tickets were forgotten in the drawer and of course the entire envelope had flown out somewhere on highland road over the course of those 8 miles.
Pissed out of my mind I spent a couple hours that night driving up and down the road but of course I couldn’t see anything.
Me and my bro got up early the next morning and started walking down highland road— from Lee drive and high back towards I-10. I was so mad at myself as fully expecting to have lost the entire collection of season tickets.
We go about 6 miles without finding anything and are about to give up when we get to the big curve in the road right before you get to the pecue turnoff off highland.
Blowing in the summer wind was dozens of tickets and cash all over highland road. I felt like a 10 year old at a parade running around like a crazy person in the middle of highland road picking up all the tickets.
Despite the tickets being blown all over the road for like 15-16 hours before we found the tickets— I recovered almost the entire collection of season tickets (home and away) and except maybe one Non-conference game along with almost all the cash.
I think I was fortunate they blew out at a spot that just has almost no pedestrian traffic.
Talk about fired up I was on cloud 9 the rest of the day after thinking the night before I had lost all my tickets for the upcoming football season.

I found a very neatly folded $100 bill on the ground near Pat O's during Mardi Gras about 10 years ago.
