This is crazy how covid impacted some jobs so heavily. I work in tech and I had 0 days off and business as usual but at home. Other folks like my wife / sister / BIL all medical field so had to be available.

7 weeks last summer on leave after knee surgery. Very boring after about a week. At least PT gave me something to do a few times a week. Hope to never be out that long again. Non weight bearing on crutches the whole time probably made it worse. Not a lot of things to do when you can’t really walk.

After me and my wife finished grad school she got a job in a different city. After we moved, I stayed home with our toddler for about 3-4 months before I found a job. It was great, but I was going a little crazy by the end.

About a week vacation if you don’t count some minimal work on time sensitive tasks as needed.

I’ve attempted to take off a week or two when changing jobs but never works out that way. Feel blessed and possibly cursed that I’ve been W-2ing it via employment for every calendar day since 2001.

well, it may have been a little more than that, but i don't know for sure. i worked for a service contractor providing support for a microchip manufacturer. the owner of the company had a daughter who was my age, and since hiring me talked her up all the time when he was around me. He was getting on in years and was talking to me about how he'd like to pass the business on to his daughter and future SIL one day soon. ended up meeting her one day and, while not unattractive, i could see where she was headed physically, we didn't click personally, and i was already in a relationship (with my now wife) and had no reason to leave.

So she asked if I was interested in going to a game with her because she had some tickets. I politely declined and thanked her for the offer, and let her know I couldn't justify it being in a relationship. After that, she and her dad just gave me the cold shoulder and I could tell I was on the outs with him. They had just negotiated a big contract, but they put it on hold for a while and eventually cancelled it in March '20.

Maybe 3 weeks when I got married. I've always had side hustles to keep me busy when dealing with unemployment.

I was furloughed during Covid for 1/week a month. Think we did that for 4 months straight. Screwed up thing was that it wasn't enough to even claim unemployment. Didn't need it, but I was trying to screw the gov't as much as I could legally. Last year, I took at 2 week vacation to France and England.

10-days vacation.

Europeans > Americans re vacation

Mid July thru Aug many European families are off 4 or more weeks.

I had to work at my company 30 yrs to earn 6-wk vacation. For many in Europe 4-6wks of vacation is available much much sooner.

I think 3 weeks, technically was working from home after the hurricane.

Our work encourages you to take 2 weeks off at a time and gives lots of vacation time overall so that would be the next longest.
