I want to say about 3-4 hours in park on the Basin bridge thanks to two 18 wheelers and an RV. I spent my time fishing off the bridge and even enjoyed a cold beer or two in the cab. Luckily I was coming back from Caddo Lake and was prepared

Hurricane Rita evacuation from Houston
10 hours from Galveston to Baton Rouge
ETA: Then it hit Lake Charles and we couldn't get back for 3-4 days.

Fished for a few hours one day off the basin bridge in traffic.
Thankfully had an ice chest full of beer and a few fishing poles.
Not a bad day.

Whatever Hurricane was in 2008. Stuck in the contraflow to Birmingham for 19 hours. The only exit that was open was to get gas and go to the bathroom. GF loses keys to car, found them 20 minutes later. Not sure what was worse those 20 minutes or the 19 hours.

12+hours on I-10 when the interstate flooded in Houston during tropical storm Allison.

There are two different times I was stuck in traffic for a long time. One time was just under 4 hrs and the second time was about 4hrs & 20mins.
The time I was in traffic for just under 4 hrs.. I was on my way back from Lafayette and there was a wreck involving an 18 wheeler on the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge. It involved having to clean up something that was spilling out of the 18 wheeler.
At certain points they were allowing some traffic to go through so it got to a point where things were at least moving at a crawl and as people got off the ABB, they were getting on the median and drive to the grosse tete exit and I guess try to squeeze into traffic so they could take the exit. As more people started doing it, 18 wheelers started pulling into the median to block people from trying to bypass everyone. I applauded them for doing that.
The second time was in Houston. I had to go there for a few days for work and on the last day I left right after work, which was about 4:30PM. I got on the interstate and ended up heading West so I had to exit off so I could go EastBound. There was road construction going on right outside of Houston so traffic was already being slowed down, but right when I got into the construction area a wreck involving an 18 wheeler happened. I was maybe 7 or 8 cars back from the wreck (actually I think this time two 18 wheeler were involved along with one or two other vehicles) and it was pretty bad. It took the police a relatively long time to get to the scene, they had to land a helicopter on the interstate. I guess the police had to do an investigation of the scene then they had to remove the 18 wheelers. I stayed in one spot for a little over 4 hrs. It takes me about 4.5hrs to get to Houston so it ended up being an almost 9 hr trip back..

Hurricane Rita
90 miles from Houston to Livingston took 13 hours.
Never again will I leave Houston because of a Hurricane.

I think it took me 4-5 hours to get from Metairie to the west bank during an ice storm. I believe it was in 1989. Roads started icing up around mid afternoon

4+ hours in the Hampton Roads Tunnels.

6 hours in Whittier, AK. The road out is also a railroad tunnel and the signal broke. Had to bring parts in from Anchorage. There were like 30 cars stuck on the Prince William Sound side and I amused myself by floating rumors.

You left the window wide open for someone to frick with you.
I would've honked my horn Everytime I saw you get comfortable.
Or just not honk at all.
Eta; coming back from Houston after Katrina.
I can't remember exactly where it was but I'm pretty sure it was right before the Texas border. There was a fatal wreck. I couldn't give you an estimate, but it felt like we were there forever. And we had to enter the parish in a certain time window. So it felt even longer.

I ride a motorcycle. I never get caught in traffic, I go around it.

3 hrs on the Bonne Carre (2 wrecks on that stretch) coming home from Jazz Fest.
I had to pull over at some point and pee over the side of the bridge.

Waiting for one of those poor bastards that got stuck in Atlanta during the ice storm and ditched their vehicle to chime in.
I got stuck in Birmingham on 280 during this storm. It took me 8 hours to go 4 miles. Cars were abandoned all over the place. Like nothing I've ever seen.
I finally got to the last stretch and turned down the side road at Whole Foods. I had one more mile. But the side road was blocked with cars that had wrecked. So I parked my car in the strip mall across from Whole Foods and walked the last mile on slippery ice with dress shoes.
Some of my co-workers slept in their call and didn't get rescued until mid day.

It's a narrow two mile tunnel but cars can only use it when no trains are using it. There is no other way except to hike

Most of my coworkers slept in the office that night.
It took me 4 hours to get from Nola to BR for the 2015 Auburn LSU game. Some guy was towing a truck and didn't have it fastened right. Killed a few guys on motorcycles behind him when the boat fell off the trailer. Happened right in front of me.. Fire truck also hit the car right next to me because the idiot wouldn't get out of the road so the fire truck could get through.
