Freaking Gas BBQ Grill, X girlfriend won one in a box at her Company Christmas Party.
Took 2 1/2 hours, a 12 pack and had about 10 pieces left over when finished.
It worked though

A mess. All it makes is a mess.
My wife got them a bunch of toy utensils, fake food, pots & pans, etc, and the kids "play" with the kitchen by scattering the stuff everywhere.

I built ours with my wife. I'm not sure how we are still married. Whatever the cost to have someone put one up, it's worth it. We got it done though

This thread is hilarious. I've got twins, so assembling even the small things are strenuous.
Two of these were a long night, and what I gained in experience as I moved on to the second one, I lost in patience.

I bought my one year old some cardboard box blocks...like the ones we had back in the day at preschool. Just read in the reviews to

Currently putting together a doll house. Reviews state at least 3 hours to assemble and so far it appears it is going to take at least that long. Finishing it up tomorrow. Wife will pay dearly for this one.

Put this together yesterday, took a couple hours. Then we went to my parents' house in Florida. Too big to bring with us, so she's going to unwrap a photo of it on Christmas day.
I've done the swingset assembly for a birthday, 15 hours in August heat. This past August I put together a trampoline by myself, definitely not as bad as the swingset.

This damn thing. Came home from a Christmas party after plenty of cocktails and wife informs me that this monstrosity shouldn't take more than 15-20 minutes to put together. Two hours and two bottles of wine later..... I think the assembly manual was written by NASA.

I accidentally set the wheel on fire putting together the cozy coupe. Thankfully it was pouring down rain at the time so I kicked it out into the rain which put out the fire. A little duck tape over some melted plastic and it's good to go.

Yea I did some kinda leggo (spell?) jeep the other day. Got pissed and quit then wife came in trying to figure it out and fricked everything up. Gonna start back on it again tomorrow. The pictures of the parts in instructions look nothing like the actual parts irl.

I hate cold weather, so I do minimal assembly for Christmas. Learned that lesson the hard way helping my older brother assemble Santa for his kids.
Wife and I spent an entire day putting together a trampoline with an enclosure net in the August heat. Another lessoned learned... no more assembly for me.
The wooden swing set in our backyard was bought from some friends whose kids had outgrown it. Gave them $100 for it and paid a couple of young kids another $100 to cut it in half and haul it to my backyard on a tandem axle trailer. Took 2 trips on a Saturday.
Daughter is getting a bike this year. $10 assembly at the store. Moral of the story - fool me once, I'm still a fool. Fool me twice and I'm paying somebody else to enjoy the misery.
