re: What is your opinion of arrogant and rude college professors? - ILikeLSUToo
They don't really know life outside academia. Product of their own environment, really. I can't imagine working at a university is a pleasant experience nowadays....
Edt: anyone ever take their ADD/ADHD medicine and then become hyper sensitive to input lag? I normally don't have an issue with it but when on Adderall I notice any delay.
Yes, when I started taking it 10 years ago, I became hypersensitive to input lag, screen tearing, and aliasing...

re: How important is living where you want to live to your happiness? - ILikeLSUToo
I don't get out much anyway. The ideal place for me is one that's safe and fairly quiet, has good schools, and is reasonably close to civilization (stores, medical facilities, and restaurants). Oh, and good broadband. I'm fairly content where I am, though imagine I would be happier somewhere els...

Close to it. 1080 was May 2016 and 1080 Ti was March 2017. I think it was a similar timeline for the 980 and 980 ti, maybe a little less....

Well that is a shame. Looks like they won't be able to fulfill all orders either. Makes for a good political headline since they're blaming the tariffs. Although, isn't Thermaltake selling knockoffs? I wouldn't mind a smaller modular case. I am considering a downsize next time I do a major overha...
Just give it a chance and it will meld into your family.
She already has. I don't think I've ever had dog as easily trainable as her. Really good with both of our kids, too. When I was looking at the potential adoptees, she was the only dog not going ape shite in the kennel....
Also, your dog is definitely 50% pit. I can see it in his eyes.
Nice. She is 50% American Staffordshire Terrier. One of the 12.5% segments is very visible from the spots on her fur. The other 12.5% is out of left field. The shelter thought she was part Catahoula, but not ac...

Dog DNA Tests to see your mutt's background - ILikeLSUToo
TL;DR - did a dog DNA test on my new mixed breed puppy, see below for pics and breed results Anyone else try this lately? There were some threads on this several years back, but I just recently tried this with my new pup I adopted from Companion Animal Alliance. From the brief research I did, the...

If those areas with acreage would get decent broadband, I'd consider it. My parents just moved to middle of nowhere Greensburg with satellite internet, and are asking me about cutting the cord and streaming. :casty:...

He's an Adobe user, and it's notorious for being terribly inefficient at leveraging more than a few cores. Prefers fast cores over more cores. I'm showing him multiple configs at different budgets, and I'll probably throw in a Ryzen build. But ultimately it's up to him, and neither one is the wrong ...

I don't need help with config, just want a cool and quiet SFF case and CPU cooler since I rarely work with SFF. That's why I gave the range of sizes from mATX to ITX. Size is flexible, just smaller than ATX. EDIT: You didn't even recommend a cooler....

Hoping someone here can save me the research time -- a friend wants me to build him a small form factor workstation. Higher-end CPU with some standard overclocking, low-end graphics card. MicroATX or mITX, and overall needs to be quiet. Just looking for the ideal SFF case and CPU cooler recommenda...

re: FPS vs Refresh Rate (Gaming PC question) - ILikeLSUToo
he 2600x would be a better all around because of multicore performance but there 8600k is better at gaming.
Maybe, in specific programs. Games still aren't all that efficient in using more than 4 to 6 cores, but even professional editing/rendering programs aren't all at that point...
