Work from home now and on flex time.
Can correspond by email or if necessary phone without face-to-face meetings.
No longer do a lot of interstate driving.

Job security…never had a layoff in our 70+ year history. Only way you can lose your job is if you fire yourself

I've been somewhere with unlimited sick leave. It is a great idea for people who work in an office so that someone doesn't come in with a cold and get the entire damn floor sick.

I've been somewhere where I had 20 days to take every year no matter what. Sick days and vacation days counted the same. I was in my mid 20s then and would go to work with a cold, strep, you name it, because I wanted to use vacation days for vacation.

Now, I have permanent WFH and love it.

I show up whenever I want, I leave whenever I want, I take days or weeks off whenever I want, I get paid in cash, and I don't need the money.

Take almost every good thing (no whale watching) listed here and I’ve got it to some degree.

But overall: the amount of Control that I have over my world is probably the thing I value most.

I’d love 21-21 but my 7-7 will have to do for now. Plus paid vacation.
