More power to ya living out there.

I'd last a month's vacation out there. It's beautiful, but brutal

I get to get bitched at for not doing things the way people want me to do despite the fact they never tell me how they want things done. So thats nice.

I changed jobs last October... so it's all fresh.

Christmas break that actually is longer than school break.
July 4th week off (adjusts to 3 days if 4th is a weekend)
1/2 day Fridays during summer.
Healthy sick leave package that doesn't eat into PTO
Humans first attitude.

There are plenty of warts, but it has been nice to work for a company that understands people need some flexibility. We'll give you weekend travel and late nights, but I may need a morning or afternoon here and there.

I've long thought that the last week of the year and a summer week should just be company wide shutdown for most places. So many people are going to be out, just shut down and people will love it.

Not saying you should if you take your time, as I stated in the first post.

Damn, my company needs to get with the times and update there's. We are still on 401k

work-life balance: 10-15 minutes commute depending on "traffic", 8am-4pm M-F, can take off at the drop of the hat for kids events/Dr. 5 weeks PTO, but can easily stretch it out since it doesn't count as a PTO day when I work 1/2 days. Health/dental/vision paid 100% for entire family

Getting to do exactly what I want and nothing else. 100% trial and appellate practice. Well, that and an obscene expense account.

Unlimited sick leave, hybrid work environment, and just dropped almost 10k for another SANS cert for me with no payback requirement.

Oh, and profit sharing, damn good insurance, and four weeks of vacation.

Southeast is pretty chill. Great quality of life, good paying jobs. Its the size of Florida with 70k people total. Weather is mild, more cool than cold, but lots of snow.
