Yacht Rock before Keith Urban. Especially w Michael McDonald duet.

Who am I kidding, yacht rock with your favorite beverage and a cigar after a hard days work is always a good end to a day.

Two of my friends had destination weddings. They were awesome. I wish more of my friends went that route.

I am very grateful this was not a thing while my wife and I were having children.

Some are ok. Most are simply horrible.

My son just got married this past April. I’m very grateful to be the father of the groom instead of the father of the bride.

While I have made many great friends in my 30+ years in my career (all with the same company), I’m under no illusion that my job would be posted before the dirt had time to settle on my grave if were to die tonight.

100% on the brunch or way overpriced breakfast. I have been saying this myself.

To add- paying $22.95 for a Tito’s Bloody Mary with a slice of bacon and a boiled shrimp is crazy. Just give me the Mary for $8.95 please!

You were invited, probably bc they felt obligated to extend the invitation. You weren't obligated to go. My guess is they were perfectly fine with you not attending but were trying to be nice.

The IPA one is spot on, but the replies calling out the ChatGPT slop made me laugh out loud. You definitely forgot to ask AI to throw in some tattoos and pit bulls to make it sound real, baw!

Having kids. Your money, your marriage, your quality of life, your ability to just exist without stress, all of it goes out the window for someone who will one day say they hate you. It forks up your wife's mind and body for years, plus now she is relegated to being a SAHM so I hope you were planning to make a lot more money. And she is forever going to resent you because, despite working all day + doing outside chores on the weekends, you don't do enough around the house and you just don't get how hard it is for her. Oh you wanted to take a spontaneous daycation? Sucks. You get to watch Bluey instead. Got laid off? It's better to give your family a life insurance payout than make them homeless. Want to connect with your wife? The best you can do is clean poop off the wall and hope she's thankful for that.

There's no way. It makes no sense. If you made a pro/con list, the only pro is that you might have someone to take care of you when you're older. But retirement homes are full of people who's family doesn't care or even hates them. You could cover end of life care by saving 1/4th of what you would have spent on a kid throughout your life.

For me -

Luxury Watches - If you have the money and that is your thing I won't knock it, but spending 10k for a watch is wild to me.

Designer Clothes - There are levels to this, but paying thousands of dollars for Prada and Gucci is a lot.

Charcuterie boards - They are fine, but it's just some meat, cheese and crackers.

Basic ones for a first kid is fine

Correct, and while I drank my fair share of beer in my lifetime, I rarely drink it now with how many other options there are

Depends on the couple and the destination

Correct

If Popeyes had ChickFilA's service/cleanliness, it would take over the fast food world.

Their food is incredible. It's a testament to their food that they're still in business, because the experience with the employees and driving to the hood to get it is fricking horrible.
