I’d give a dollar for every ten push-ups she knocked down.

Several years ago on the night before Christmas Eve, I had something similar happen. I was in a restaurant parking lot waiting for My kids to come out. A woman pulled up beside me and asked me if I had $10. She said she needed gas to get home for Christmas. The town was like 40 miles away. It seemed scammy to me, but I gave her $10.
The kids came out and I followed her from a distance. She pulled into a gas station. Went inside and came out a few minutes later and left. Never put gas in her car. I'll never give a dollar to anyone like that again.

I'd tell her I have $10 she can have if she can beat me in a race.

Said she was “trying to take a cab to Jackson and it was $80
That's a pretty cheap cab ride to Jackson considering the nola airport to downtown is $30+
And in response to the OP, I would have said no and then gotten in my car and moved it to a different spot away from her and then gone into the store.

Holy Crap Really?????? What has Happened here? 3 pages in and the only reasonable response to this should have been on page one. PIIHB is the only acceptable answer here

This is an old scam too. The "honest" panhandle. You fell for it.
I'm fine with that. I get tired of the sob stories.

I would’ve pulled the pin on my hand grenade and pitched it into their car as I walked away.

I looked and saw a morbidly obese woman, about 30, in a yellow print sun dress.

Had a young lady approach me for money in a Home Depot parking lot a few years back. She was slender, with dirty blonde hair and in a dirty sun dress. She was crying and had a black eye. She said they needed money for a place to stay and motioned to a beat up old car just ahead of me. There was some greaser sitting in the car smoking a cigarette and staring off. He was facing away from me, so I couldn't see his face. I could see the dirty faces of two kids peering through the back window at their momma.
I didn't have any cash. I did have a koozie filled with change in my console and I gave it to her, and told her to leave with the kids when he passes out. She nodded. and walked back to the car.

Sounds to me like she sized you up and decided you were poor and asked if you had a dollar or two. She probably would have given you $5 if you didn’t walk away so fast.

I would tell her no.
I don’t give money to beggars anymore.
Several years ago, I had someone pull up next to me and beg for some gas money with a baby in the car. They had a story about how they had to drive home 70 miles away and had no money. I’m a sucker and gave her some cash. Went home and told my wife the details.
The next day, the same girl pulled up next to my wife in a different parking lot with the same story. My wife said you pulled this same story on my husband yesterday, and the girl floored it and sped away.
So now, no money for anyone. Ever. I’m a sucker.
