Quality Inn at I-12 and ONeal.
it’s not great around there but as long as you are aware and don’t do anything too stupid, you should be fine
Don’t leave any valuables in your car either

I would take a wild guess and assume these are all pay by the hour establishments?
They were probably first class motels back in the 50's and 60's. Now, everyone wants to stay in a high rise chain hotel with a breakfast bar.

Early 80's I lived near Government and Jefferson. I frequently drove to work around 6 AM down North Street. People in high heels and short skirts. Standing in front of a sign "Never a cold bed." I ran a lot of red lights.

I really miss Plantation Inn, especially right after Katrina.
ODB did a show there one Christmas. Then there was that rave where my drummer’s roomate’s boyfriend killed a dude, pulled all of his teeth, then torched the body.
Top notch place right there.

Has anyone mentioned Staring Motel on Staring Lane

Is it actually open? The lights are on but nobody is ever there, and Google maps says “permanently closed”

Lesson learned…
We checked in to the Quality Inn. I saw the shady characters at the gas station and hanging around. No big deal. We went in the room and ate. A steady increase of volume next door became apparent. Screaming babies, screaming adults (particularly one that sounded like a grandma), and the threat of getting out “the belt”. The TV was on Family Feud, which was appropriate I guess.
We finished our food and peaced the frick out and got a room out here in Denham.
I’m the kind of guy that can sleep anywhere as long as it’s quiet enough. I have headphones if need be, but I didn’t even feel like going through the trouble. In less than a half hour, I could tell the folks next to me weren’t accustomed to hotel manners or courtesy.

Can anyone here tell me exactly what year The Oak Manor was demolished?

My uncle ran the Pines back in the day. I stayed there a couple of times.

I worked at the Fountain motel 50 years ago as a lawn boy. It was a shithole then

I submit for consideration the Royal Motel on Airline right across the parish line in Prairieville.
Spent many nights there mid 90’s. Clean , an old Chinese couple owned it.
35 dollars a night. I was working in the area and didn’t need anything fancy. Only went to SouthernComforts once while staying there. They were shooting their Christmas calendar that night ,it was fun.
If you wanted your muscle pulled there was a Thai massage parlor next door.

I've never seen a good OYO. Pretty sure it stands for on your own.

Not really sure but one thing I am certain of. Downtown Br has turned into a shithole.

A few years ago My 1st cousin lived at the Alamo Hotel. I picked him up from there for Thanksgiving and Easter. He's disabled and mentally ill though. Not a crackhead or even drinker. The riff raff left his ole crazy arse alone for couple years while there

The Bellemont Hotel (1946) was on Airline near Greenwell Springs was actually a 5 star, full service hotel with multiple pools, 3 restaurants, and a small arena for events. It was one of the nicest of its kind in on the gulf coast in its prime.
Movie stars stayed at the Bellemont when they were filming in the vicinity. John Wayne for one.

The Belmont looks so swanky perfect for a midday rendezvous.
Too bad it was demolished. Like all my hopes and dreams.
I kid

Every Scottish Inn comes with a menu. Never understood that at a motel.
