Dated a girl that I went to school with who was homely, but I think she was freaky back in the late 1970’s. She wore dresses with no makeup. When her parents who ran a church were not around it was short shorts, high heels, candy apple red lip stick, and a tank top.
She would call me after she got off work at McDonald’s at the Rebel Shopping Center and take her to the Alamo or Ten flags Inn. Those hotels were rough even back in the late 70’s.
They did have the Belmont which was going down, but at the time still a nice hotel in BR. At that point it mostly hosted sporting events or schools coming into town for events.
Tom Drive, North & S Choctaw, Winbornne, and Cortana Mall Airway Drive area was full of businesses. It was a working class area.
Hotel that is gone where the Home Depot has beautiful Oak trees infront of it. Then further down Airline by N Foster before the trailer park next to Winchester Ave they had a nice 3 story hotel.
Man BR has changed.

I’ll be staying tomorrow and Saturday night at the Quality Inn at I-12 and ONeal. Am I going to get murdered? 3.7 outta 5 on Orbitz.

Hotel might be fine but there will be a lot of homeless people around that area at the Racetrac and under the overpass near there. O'Neal can get a little sketchy at night. It's not the ghetto but not nearly as nice as it used to be.

Friend stayed there after the 2016 flood when the hotels in Denham Springs were under remodeling.
Area is sketchy with homeless people.

It's BR, the non sketchy hotel list would be a lot shorter

Went to a rave in 2000 at the Belmont.

Thanks. I wasn’t even joking. I haven’t lived there in 12 years and that was in the Kenilworth subdivision. Those neighborhoods in BR flip so fast.

Anything on Sherwood or Airline/I-12, anything worse than that I don't even want to imagine.

I once had an older couple ask about the Bellemont in the late 90s when they were traveling through the area.
I wonder if they had a brochure from the 60s because that place was on its lasts legs then.

I saw that. In the subdivision, yes? FWIW, we will be at the game. We only plan on being in the room to sleep.

I’ll go with the one on the WBR side right before you head east bound to the old bridge. Not sure the name, but not far from directly across from where The Candelight was

That's about a mile or two south of the interstate and has been a shithole neighborhood for 15+ years.

Yes. I assumed you were in for the game.

I would take a wild guess and assume these are all pay by the hour establishments?
