Great year. College freshman. Sorority pussy and everything was new and exciting in life. I was still young enough to think I could do anything in the world. I could drink like a fish and even mix alcohol without getting sick. Pretty good music, and MTV was still playing only music videos. No one had a cellphone, and I vaguely even knew what email was.
That sounds fantastic

It was awesome. Playing in the fields and woods. Building forts. Occasionally got to play video games. There was skating, and all sorts of mischief. Picking blackberries.

Collecting the Cicada husks and making them do battle.

40 was a great year

It was kickass

I was playing music with my friends, for fun. On a cassette 4 track. Hooking up with hot chicks, every once in a while getting good brick weed, excited about throught provoking music and movies coming out or around in those days..still finding those life changing undiscovered movies, music and things for the first time.

I had some passion in 1996..and DOOM 2 on PS1.

Spent the majority of 1996 in LTI. That sucked.

We are roughly the same age. It was my freshman year at LSU. Good times.

I turned 5 and started kindergarten.

I was a 2 sport athlete, basketball and tee-ball.

It's been all downhill since.

I was living in Midcity NOLA and had settled into a routine as a nightly drunk at a neighborhood bar. For that reason, I was having a good time but my trajectory was downward.

The last days of the original America. I reminisce.

Amen. Same age, similar experience.

Oh, and no one had ever conceived of any social media platform either. All the great times weren't laid out for someone with a camera phone, either, so no evidence exists of them, thank God.

Getting my first tastes of grown up money with a "kids" expenses. It was glorious.

I was 11. A blind retarded man went to shake my hand when I was on a stairwell and grabbed by nuts.

That was the most eventful thing that happened to me in 1996.

It sure was, and the older I get the more I reminisce about the period. I mean a Blatz sixpack was $2.13 plus tax and we had our mini fridge on too cold sometimes and had to get an ice pick. The first day on campus, I recall sitting on the floor in the room introducing some buddies to this chick, then she starts reaching up my shorts to play with my balls. Great days.

it seemed downhill at the time but it actually straightened me out. Haven't had so much as a traffic ticket as an adult.
