Dewalt and Porter Cable only for me. I do have a few no names that still work though.

Don’t buy any Black and Decker garbage. They are crap and make crap.

Mostly Craftsman and Milwaukee. Craftsman sockets, wrenches and screwdrivers are 36 years old. I've had a Dewalt drill for about 25 years too.

Milwaukee for like 75%, Dewalt for the other 25%. Most saws I have are Delta. Got some harbor freight cheap shite in the mix as well if it’s something I don’t care about breaking.

Agreed on get what you pay for. I use some cheap tools for my employees because they will steal or lose them but my personal tools or ones I’ll be on the job with I always stick to better brands. I personally like Porter as well. Though I grew up with Crafts as the go to from my Dad

Harbor Freight is awesome for some things. But power tools and saws and things wouldn’t touch them.

Doesn't matter anymore. It's all made in China nowadays.

Theres nothing worse than a $5 crescent wrench that has to constantly be readjusted mid-use because the play is too loose.

Pre-1970's stuff - I buy almost 100% American made tools from yard sales, pawn shops, etc.

Almost all the brands are now made very poorly in China. Can't beat the quality of tools made in the pre-1970's USA. (and they are usually discounted 80% less than the new garbage)

I bought a Delta table saw last month for $50. Built like a tank. Adjustable down to a half a hair. No way I could buy a new one built like that for under a couple thousand. It will run for another 50 years,

Milwaukee. They will legit send you a whole new tool if you send something back into them. Their customer service is awesome

Matco for hand tools. Power tools are a mix of Milwaukee and Ryobi 1+ for around the house stuff.

Craftsman for hand tools, but that might change if they drop or weaken the lifetime warranty.

DeWalt or Bosch for power tools. I lean more towards DeWalt now because of convenience at the Home Depot.

I'm not that particular with brands. Power tools I have some Ryobi, Makita, DeWalt, and Milwaukee. Drill bits I usually go DeWalt or Kobalt, but for the driver they're mostly Milwaukee.

Hand tools I usually buy Stanley, but a lot of mine were gifts or I inherited so that's a mixed bag as well.

It would take 10 minutes to type. Different companies make different tools better. There are some threads on the OB with good lists

Many of my Dewalt set from 2005 is still in use I just use the battery adapters so the LiOn work instead of NiCad.

I had a Makita set but it gave me issues. Wife got me a Milwalkee set last year. I have a lot of odd rare use tools with the Ryobi one. I also have harbor freight tools only for loan outs, or when I need something I can risk losing (volunteer work).

I have Crafstman for hand tools because they work though i like Klein and other store brands as well.

I have about a dozen different tool bags, multpile vehicle work boxes and two rolling carts full of tools, and that's not even what I have on the walls.

I have never found much worth out of the crazy hi price brands.

Black and Decker

A good friend of mine use to say Black and Decker was complete shite, but at the time he managed a hardware store that only sold Dewalt products.
