Cordless is all Milwaukee.
Corded stuff is mostly Makita.
No reason particularly for the corded ones just the best deals whenever I was looking for certain tools.

DeWalt power tools. For hand tools I'll use anything from Craftsman to husky/kobalt to harbor freight.

I use both Craftsman(preferred and what I buy)
And I have a few Dewalts that were gifts.

My life got so much easier when I switched to Ryobi power tools. Switching the battery from one to the next is fantastic. Just bought extra batteries

I have had 2 hitachi drill combos that worked good . Also had good luck with Dewalt power tools. Today I bought 5 piece Ridgid combo power tools kit from Home Depot. My ridgid tile saw has been great so I decided to try the drills now. I have a porter cable table saw and haven’t had any issues with it .

Dewalt
Porter Cable
Milwaukee
Makita
The above for woodworking and carpentry power tools.
I have a large 12 drawer Craftsman tool chest with hand tools for mechanic work and in it are a mix of Craftsman, Kobalt, Snap-on and various other brands of tools.
I do have a few very old and well made Craftsman large shop tools in a 10 in. table saw, 12 in. Band Saw, large upright drill press and a 6 in. jointer planer. My 10 in. radial arm saw is a Delta.

Ryobi. the idea that any battery will fit any tool is pretty awesome. price is right also, especially once you have 3-4 good batteries and a couple chargers and can buy just the tools. Ive heard people say that they are no good, cheap made etc, and not worth it if you use them much, but that is 100% not true. i use the hell out of mine, both new and the old blue stuff and never had a minutes worth of trouble. Use the 1/2" Impacts changing tires on our race team and its the best and fastest we have. I've had my sawzall so hot you couldn't touch it and it still hasn't quit. i know there are tons of good brands, but Ryobi has been good. great quality and tons of variety of tools

I’ve got makita cordless tools but I’d probably go with Milwaukee if I had to do it again just because Milwaukee’s batteries are better and they have several tools makita doesn’t offer like a cordless ratchet. Hand tools are a mix of snap on, craftsman, Proto, gear wrench, Klein, and harbor freight. One thing not to skimp on is your multimeter, I went through 4 or 5 before getting a Fluke and have never looked back.

Mixed bag of tools. Makita drills and drivers but recently purchased new Kobalt drill and driver that Im honestly very impressed with. Only time will tell with longevity. Also purchased a Kobalt skil saw that is mediocre. Kobalt miter saw that is well made. Klein and Kobalt hand tools along with older Craftsman stuff. Two Bosch sanders that are fantastic quality. I have used DeWalt extensively as well and all of their stuff has been very well made.

Yes, bring them to a Sears store and they will swap it out.

Harbor Freight is awesome for some things. But power tools and saws and things wouldn’t touch them.
their pittsburgh brand hand tools are pretty good, on par with crafstman (which isnt anywhere near the same as the craftsman tool they used to make 30 years ago)
all HF power tools and anything electric from them are pure trash
ryobi power tools are good average budget tools, if you want long lasting quality buy dewalt or makita

Pre-1970's stuff - I buy almost 100% American made tools from yard sales, pawn shops, etc.
Same here, just about all my hand tools, and corded power tools are 40+year old Craftsman with the exception of a few screwdrivers and hex wrenches that had to be replaced as they became worn. Have one socket set I bought in around 1968, and another my Dad bought in the 1950s. My battery powered stuff is older Dewalt, I rebuild the battery packs myself as needed.
