Fallout is just beginning. Bankruptcy filings have begun. The larger retailers are going to be hit hard. Macy’s is filing this week. Others that were in trouble, like J.C. Penny will probably follow.
Commercial real estate will suffer with a short term cash flow issue, but some will take advantage of the situation to get rid of the tenants they want out.
Airlines & the hospitality industry will really take a hit. Lot of our favorite bars & restaurants will not survive. Estimated that 75% of the airlines will file.
In NOLA, the mom & pop stores on Magazine St are in big trouble. Hell, small business is in a jam.
We can go on & on. Every facet of daily life will be effected, from healthcare to travel.
Hopefully, this is a better America when the dust settles. The entitled generation has taken far to much for granted for far to long. The parents of my generation made it through a depression without protest. They stood in line all day for a loaf of bread and were grateful. Life is a team sport.

Sadly, I think you're right. You're going to see a trend of bankruptcies and consolidations. I think that you'll likely even a loosening of the anti-trust laws that prevent movie studios from owning theaters. It was already running through the courts, but faced with the very real possibility that you either have Disney and Paramount theaters or none at all, the final decision to let them once again own theaters may swing the studios' way.

Big, national chains and industries will benefit. The little guy will struggle to reopen and make it.

Hopefully slope side real estate in Colorado, Utah or Wyoming. Anyone wants to offload anything for penny’s on the dollar before it is worthless PM me.

I am curious to see if these larger corporations that rent out 12+ floors of commercial space will determine their employees can be productive working from home. And therefore not renew their lease in full and downsize to 10% of that space and just utilize a few select offices and meeting/training space.
It could be good for both the company and worker when you factor in overhead and commute time. Not so good for property owners.

I’m still on the fence about this. We own 4 rental properties in the Destin area and the company that manages them says no one has cancelled yet for anything over the summer.
We lucked out with the 07 crash as we sold 11 properties in 05 and 06. The 4 we have now were bought in 09, 11 & 12 so even if the market crashes we should still be good.

Yes. Housing prices are astronomical. Would be nice to see them come back down to earth.
