Oh, definitely. Totally. I've run into multiple cabinet secretaries at the UCM museum. Had lunch at Bosco's with F. Murray Abraham a couple of weeks ago. You wouldn't know he won an Oscar. Walking around Mandeville, he's just good people like everybody else.

My late aunt married into the Cook family of Ruston. As in the big Cook Baptist Church, or Cooktown Road.
That was her 1st marriage. She was widowed after he died young from diabetes complications.

You can add Peltiers, Cenac and a few Robichauxs.

I did some side jobs for the Hormel family. Hormel Foods people.
Filthy rich. Literally zero common sense, as they all live in this Uber wealthy bubble. To the point the one guy had people that would read/answer emails, because he didn’t know how.
Anyways. One day I finished earlier with what I was doing and the father had me go play scrabble with his son, who was probably mid 50s years of age. Very strange.

It used to be the Blossmans in the Mandeville/Covington area.

You can't swing a golf club without hitting old money in Ruston. Haddox, Graham, Hunt, James, Dawkins to name just a few.

Jimmy Baxter is a cold dude. That is who I believe runs New Orleans now.

Some of the families named in this thread are no longer as wealthy as they once were. And any discussion of wealth in Lincoln Parish starts with the name Davidson, for better or worse.

Family that owns a general contractor business that gets about 15% of all of McDonald’s new construction and remodel contracts in the US. They also do lots of other restaurant builds. If you drove by their office or if you are around them personally, you would never know their business does multiple 100’s of millions of $$ per year in work. Very humble and generous folks.
That’s what they all say until you find 17 whores buried in their back yard

Minden has had quite a few wealthy and influential families down through the years
