Not sure about your concert, but I remember seeing Chevelle play on the parade grounds in 2003 or 2004. It was a free concert. They were awesome.

Can confirm he was at OCC yesterday. My buddy met him and talked to him. Said he came down to film a video with Ted Scott. He is trying to break par with Ted as his caddie.
He said his favorite hole was 11, least favorite was 18 (duh lol)

As others have said, anything Porzak golf. If you’re going to rely on YouTube, it better be a legit instructor/pro and you should only watch their videos. You have to commit to one swing philosophy. The trouble with YouTube is that people watch 10 different videos from 10 different people and you get all kinds of screwed up. I used to watch only Mike Bender, but I find Porzak has helped me more recently. Specifically this concept:

Do any of the private clubs ever wave initiation or let it roll on the monthly. Our club always did a waived initiation once a year or every two years when membership needed growth. And our dues are a little over $400 per month and that is with a cart and we don’t have minimum in food/bev/golf shop but we always spend at least $250-$600 a month in club because I’m an idiot and charge it all.
Pretty sure OCC lets you do an installment plan for initiation, something like 1/4 up front then 1/4 each quarter after that.

How old are you? I am not sure what the initiation is up to at Oakbourne ($7,500, I think), and monthly dues of $615 with a $90 quarterly minimum. Le Triomphe is comparable, I believe, and will be better if you are in Youngsville. I have heard that the course is in fantastic shape and is doing well under the new management.
You’re pretty much right on with OCC. If he’s 42, he’ll be a full stock member (I’m 40). I think the initiation is $7,500 also (not sure as I’ve been a member since 2011 but I think that’s right) and my monthly stock member dues are $615 incl tax plus the $90 quarter food minimum.
The carts is where they get you. $26 per person per round for cart rental. You can save a shite ton of money there if you walk.

I have 2 season tickets in south end zone, but I’ve been selling them to a friend for the last couple of years due to financial constraints. This year I was finally able to afford them again so I’ve been bringing one of my kids to each game. I will tell you that the cost of being at the game has to be a factor to the crowd issues. I have yet to spend less than $200-$300 per game just on 2 people getting a few souvenirs and food and drink. It’s unbelievably expensive to go to the game. The tickets and parking prices are actually not that bad for the season. It’s the food, drink, and merch that is pricing everyone out.

Broke 80 for the first time last year on May 4th. 79 at OCC.
Since then I’ve done it 8 times with a lot of 80-83 scores thrown in.
Shot my personal best on august 3rd this year, a 74 at the Farm. I hit 10 fairways, 9 GIRs, and got up and down 5 times. 2 birdies and 4 bogeys. 28 putts.
Currently a 6.0 index.

Just go watch the tape of the CFP National Championship game against LSU. He has all the physical tools, but he's not very accurate. He throws a lot of fastballs with no arc when he should be throwing touch passes. He overthrows dudes a lot. It was really obvious watching that game in person.
He'll make a few throws a game that only guys like him can make, but he has an equal number of throws that miss receivers badly.
He's just very inconsistent.

Played there last Saturday. The greens are unplayable. It’s a great layout with good scenery, but the greens don’t have much grass on them. Full of poa too. It’s honestly the worst I’ve ever seen

First one that came to my mind. Love this movie. The buildup in tension throughout the movie, making the guy think he was their friend, then the shocking ending. I know it was a true story, but still great directing and an awesome cast. Emile Hirsch and Ben Foster were awesome in this.
Other ones I think of:
Jumper
(don't care what anyone says, I thought this was an awesome movie, and Rachel Bilson was incredibly hot)
Room 1408
(with John Cusack - good horror movie with a good twist ending)
Frequency
October Sky
Margin Call

I listened to the first 8 or so tracks and got bored and switched to something else. The first track on the album is awesome. I like Emergence as well. I just find them good in small doses, but I can't just sit there and listen to them. The music gets so boring. I can't get into it.

As others have said. The Farm and the Wetlands are the best in the area. Both are great courses. It’s been a few years since I’ve played the wetlands because it’s tough to get a good tee time. The farm can be tough but if you play it right it’s not that bad. There are some tight par 4’s that you won’t want to hit driver on. If you can fade and draw the ball off the tee there’s a lot of holes with trouble on one side but a lot of room on the other. Greens are fast and roll true. It’s in really good shape. The wetlands is a bit longer and a little tighter on the fairways from what I remember.
This assessment is actually spot on

Dude whatever you do, please don't play at Vieux Chenes. It is a complete dump. It's the cheapest option in town so it's full of people that don't play golf and its slow AF, not to mention a goat ranch.
The Farm is your best option --- it's a good course and usually not hard to get a tee time.
The Wetlands is a great course too, but it's nearly impossible to get any kind of decent tee time. They block off premium times for "regulars" --- its not advertised but well known. I will call right at 7:00 AM when they open to get a time for a Sunday morning and I always get "sorry earliest we have is 10:30" --- lol really you booked 3.5 hours of tee times in less than 3 minutes? ok

This one is easy. It happened last year so it's still fresh in my mind
Evangeline Four Ball at OCC last year, second round. My partner and I were around the middle of the pack but we were close to the top 3 in our flight. Everyone was separated by only a few shots.
We come up to #9 (par 3 over water if you've never played it, extremely difficult hole). My partner goes first, comes up short in the water (his shot is the red line). I come up next, hit a pretty good shot but it's tailing right just a little. Lands on the green on the bottom right side, but bounces right and falls into the water. (yellow line)
Now because my partner didn't land on anything, he has to go to the drop zone. I drive up to the green to ask one of the assistant pros (Jason) what the ruling is for mine. He said I can take a drop across the water on the other side directly in line with where it entered. So he takes me to a spot under the trees where there is some grass, watches me drop it, says its' good and it's in play. He stands behind me to watch me hit.
I hit a beautiful little mid flighted lob wedge, it lands on the right side of the green a little above pin high and starts rolling left (blue line). Jason immediately says "you just made it." I'm watching it roll all the way across the green, it drops perfectly against the flagstick and in the hole. There were about 20 competitors from the championship flight that already played eating/drinking at the turn house watching, and everyone started yelling and cheering. I threw my club down and just yelled "LETS frickING GOOOOOO" as loud as I could
I see my partner standing by the green just laughing at me.
Saved the par and ended up finishing 2nd in our flight. We were staring at a double bogey or worse, easily.
The adrenaline rush was insane. Never felt so hyped up in my life.

Best: Rage Against the Machine, Voodoo Fest NOLA, 2007. Never been a part of something like that before or since. One of the best nights of my life.
Worst: man I hate to say this... but it was probably Metallica in 2023 at AT&T Stadium. There was a post in this thread earlier that nailed it... they are still awesome and can still play, but the big stadium show sucks. The sound is awful and there is just too much going on. Wish I could see them in a small venue.
Pleasantly Surprised: Cypress Hill, Voodoo Fest 2003. Went to see A Perfect Circle and The White Stripes, and Cypress Hill was one of the earlier acts on that stage. They brought the house down and were a ton of fun.
