It’s just pre-Christmas now.

The media and corporate marketing powers that be have decided, for whatever reason, that Halloween is the “fall” holiday.

Id rather not have them

Either give me a day off or don’t give me a day off but don’t give me a “day off” where I gotta hang out with people I don’t really know and hold it over me like it’s a day off

I absolutely love thanksgiving.

I enjoy Christmas. I love seeing family and enjoying good meals and good company. I love giving presents. I hate opening presents and I hate dealing with people who make simple fun things complicated and miserable.

Can’t wait to save another 25 cents on my thanksgiving dinner.

I find myself getting irrationally pissed off with this bullshite trend of people putting up Christmas decos already. Those people are fricking losers.

Just enjoy the moment. The shite goes by way too fast. I have no clue why people want to speed up time. Lack of perspective I guess....

This post completely contradicts itself. Having said that, I got my decorations out of the attic this weekend so suck it.

this right here

first year without my parents and going to monroe was a tradition my kids loved more than anything. parade on the tv, playing in the leaves all morning, tossing a football around, eating the best oyster dressing ever with all my weird assortment of family, usually a fire in the fireplace, one year i remember they watched the 'fosters home for imaginary friends' movie during the day and that night we often treated them to a movie.

not having that, we are just going to be a small family of 4 this year and i plan to kick it off with a long romp in bowie park with the kids and dogs and a thermos of coffee

typically Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday of the year.
always have big family gatherings with lots of great food.

but this year will be the first Thanksgiving I ever spend with just my wife. and no other family members on either side.

We moved to West Texas earlier in the year.
Oldest son lives in Utah, youngest son stayed down the bayou.
My parents and siblings, and her mom and siblings all live in Louisiana as well.

I love Christmas but the obsession people have with gifts, the $ it costs and all the events can take the fun out of it.

I just want to sit by the fireplace and enjoy Christmas decorations, music and movie classics.

I’m excited like always. Thanksgiving is always great with good food and football watching with family.
Kids are older now so Christmas isn’t as special as it used to be, but we will def do a lot of family stuff to enjoy the season.

Pretty indifferent to the holiday season right now. Maybe when I put my Christmas train out I'll feel more festive. Let the cats stomp through Christmas Village a little bit.

We have the Christmas tree up already, by far the earliest we’ve ever put it up so I guess we’re feeling the Christmas cheer this year. Thanksgiving is the worst, the food sucks and the only family I care about is my mom. I’ll try to work for it if I can
