Management paid enough to care.

Do with this what you will....
They hire based on behavioral responses and not technical skills (if there's such a thing in that line of work).
It filters out trash. You're left with a thin crust of quality candidates.

Interestingly, Chickfila is one of the cheapest fast food places to franchise. It's something like only $10,000. However, franchisee's are required to work a certain number of hours in the store and takes a significant portion of the profits so the franchisee is incentivized to make sure that service is good and profits are high.

I wish Chick-fil-A restaurants sold Whoppers.

My daughter worked there for 3 years while in college. She was a shift manager when she graduated and has left the company to work in her degree field. Most of the people who work there take pride in CFAs reputation and that mindset is contagious. They do get the occasional lazy hire who doesn’t last long but they employ and staff their stores with enough people working shifts to weather the loss of one bad apple. And yes, it all begins with great management demanding excellence from the operators. That makes them to be very selective in their hiring process. Get the right people hired and the rest takes care of itself.

Behavior is a good indicator if someone is teachable or not.

They probably have a trigger finger on firing people who sneak past the interviews but actually suck. If so I'm jealous.

They interview to see if the candidate can follow up “mother” with anything beside “fukka”.

Maybe they won’t hire if you don’t have manners. You know. Something you shouldn’t have to teach these days

I thought it was like 50K and you never own the franchise. It can be taken away from you by corporate. I looked into it years ago but I could be wrong. I can’t imagine someone spending so much money on a franchise and hiring the people they do to run it.

They recruit at churches. They’ll go to a youth minister and get 4-5 applications each time. They then provide an atmosphere that makes people not hate their job.
This and they recruit a lot of home schooled kids. My niece worked there for a while. These are the kids they are going after. The parents want them to work there too because of the people they will be around.

Those church kids turn out to be pretty good employees.
And that just boils the blood of many liberals!
