Healthcare isn't for some roles.
PT, dental, elective stuff like lots of eyecare etc.
All those folks are reduced schedules etc.
I'm in chemicals, specifically pharma so we are rolling full steam. I'm working remote.

How much commercial real estate are people using/buying these days considering a lot of people are currently working from home?

Agree but none of that is happening. It would have be terminated for convenience and that is a long process. Only government contractors who would struggle would be government site on t&m contracts.

I work in government affairs and we’ve lost a couple clients, but gained a few as well.

I’ll say this - our old school boss who was adamantly opposed to the “work from home” philosophy is loving MS Teams. It’s opened up a whole new world for him.

I am in healthcare tech sales. Right this second, everyone is focused on covid-19, but I don’t think that it will negatively impact us for very long.

Or those who can't get on post because the base has shut down access.

There are sections of the FAR that gives govt the right to postpone contracts due to national emergency with no compensible time to the contractor.

Hopefully not a device used in an elective procedure. I have a feeling a lot of companies are going to trim their workforce.

Oil and gas are hardly immune. There are predictions of $20 oil and $1 gasoline. Won’t be any drilling at those prices and some refineries will be cut way back or shutdown.

Farming? My husband is planting his crop now. When he sells a crop wensave our portion and pay bills as we need to out of our account but don’t take a monthly salary. Some crops we don’t sell until then next year just depending so some years we have “no income” and other years we have income from two crop years.

He and his employees are still rolling

I also do contract work for a nursing home. I’m currently working from home and hours will likely be less but I have a job.

I feel beyond fortunate. Hate it for my son who is an environmental engineer and one graduating in May in industrial technology. I’m afraid for their futures. Dtr is a freshman in college so she has time before she enters work force.

I get all that but none of that is happening at this time. Contracts aren’t being terminated. Bases aren’t closed (yet). If the required leave gets too long there will be an equitable adjustment on current contracts. Government contractors will feel this in 2-3 years when there are cutbacks and everything goes LPTA and programs are cut.

IT maybe. I've worked in IT for 20 years. We can have it pushed in as much as any industry.

I.T can take a hit as new upgrades and projects may never leave the development stage. What begins as the big the next migration could easily stall for another year or two until things stabilize.
