Came to get a cord. Was told this morning I needed it for tomorrow morning so no time to Amazon.

Could not find it.

Found an employee. He pointed me in the direction I already looked. No other help.

Found a second employee that help me find it.

Go to check out. All checkouts closed. Need to check out at customer service.

10 customers in line.

People stopped going because they tell you how great the thing is that you’re buying and then when you check out they tell you it’s a piece of shite so you better buy the protection plan.

I've never had issues the handful of times I've gone into the one by my place

Capitalism. Fewer people working to keep labor costs low, unmotivated that aren't very knowledgeable about products, amazon becoming more convenient

That place has always sucked. Overpriced, poor selection, shitty customer service. I’m glad Amazon is destroying them

It depends on where you’re located and what type of store it is

I am in the north Dallas burbs and the two I go to are pretty damn good. They are huge with the high-end appliances and TV sections.

They will match any price on amazon so I always go there if I want to see it in person or hold it and they will easily match it. They also will refund you if it drops in a certain time.

Now, when I go back to Lake Charles and go in their Best Buy, it’s like a completely different company

I have a friend who works for them. Staff reductions to reduce overhead is why you checked out at customer service. Shitty service comes down to a shitty hiring pool. The utes of today trend toward the shitty.

It used to be that if someone was wandering around a store looking perplexed, employees would automatically ask if they need help. Now you need to ask and they usually shrug you off as quick as possible.

The one in Hammond is awful. Understaffed, dirty, half the shelves are empty. Last time I went the website said they had something in stock so I went to where it should be and it wasn't there. Once I tracked down a worker, I asked and showed him on the website where it said they had them in stock. He pointed over to a pallet that hasn't been unloaded yet and what I needed was at the bottom. Useless.

People would rather get a lower price on the Internet, so they'd go into Best Buy, see what it looked like/get expertise, and then buy it cheaper online. Best Buy pivoted to trying to sell people on their credit card with high interest rates, people like me who have zero interest being asked that all the time stopped going entirely, and here they are.

I get that saving hundreds online is a big deal, but I will say it's a dick move to get hands on information for something and immediately go online to buy it from another source.

Amazon is pretty decent about getting stuff the next day if you order it early enough

Went in to get a sd card a few months ago and was helped by a tranny that knew nothing about them.

I did receive great customer service via phone ordering a product, even got a discount.

Most Best Buy’s I have been to lately look like Canada. That’s part of the problem.

Slow to adapt. Market share has been lost forever.
