I strictly go to Publix for subs. Maybe grab some beer, but everything else is overpriced.

Controversial opinion: There isn't a good sandwich sub chain. They all fail horribly in comparison to real delis and supermarkets like Publix.

The correct list is

Publix
Jasons Deli
Mcalisters Deli
Panera

in the Atlanta Perimeter Mall area, they recently opened a Primos Hoagies (chain from the Philly area I think) that blows away other chain sandwich places. If I am within 15 minutes, that's where I'm going from now on.

Jimmy Johns is garbage too unless you have no other option.

Jimmy Johns sucks too. Firehouse is so much better than both and it isn't even close.

I'd rather not eat than eat a cold shitty bread/lettuce/tomota/mayonase sandwich from Jimmy Johns.
I can never tell if there's actual meat on it or not.

It really was good. It's probably best to not know of the health code violations they probably had going on.

My last experience at a Subway about 3 weeks ago:

Me: Turkey on wheat toasted.

Sandwich artist: What do you want on it?

Me: Everything but banana peppers.

Sandwich artist: Do you want lettuce?

Me: Yes, everything but banana peppers.

Sandwich artist: Do you want tomato?

Me: YES....EVERYTHING BUT BANANA PEPPERS.

Sandwich artist then proceeds to ask if I want pickles, so I throw in the towel. Best part is, she puts the banana peppers on, and in my last futile communication to her, say: Um that was the one thing I didn't want on it.

To be fair there's 47 different things she could have put on it.

Serious question for all of the Publix sub fans in this thread. What subs specifically are you ordering there? I think I'm doing it wrong.

I usually get a Publix sub once a week because we have one so close to the office. I just don't think they're nearly as good as Firehouse or Which Wich.

The chicken tender sub is the best sub they have. All of their hot subs are really good. But Ive never had a sub that I am mad about when I have it, hot or cold.

Subway is awful.

Now 80's Solomons on the strip was a different matter. Best sandwich ever.

Closed in early 1990's but I remember those steamed sandwiches helped many a hangover.

Chicken tender. Have them toss it in buffalo sauce first, then bake cheddar cheese on it for a minute. Then put ranch on it after doing that.

It's fricking holy shite good.
