Lord help us when the fireworks start popping off twice a year, the NextDoor mob gets crazy. Act like they were never kids..

I have a dog and two small children with no issues, but I avoid posting due to falling into group 4

There's a thread currently on mine that's been going since NYE and has almost 200 posts. What's it about? A couple of teenagers that ding dong ditched a few houses on NYE. Somehow it's devolved into a discussion of protecting one's home with lethal violence. It's one of the most absurd threads I've ever seen on the app.

It really depends on the time of year. For months mine has been littered with the illegalities of fireworks in Jefferson parish, they want the police to enforce it and arrest people. Somehow they even got a district commander to post in a 100 post long thread about it. Everyone is always overly concerned about their dog, lost dogs, lost cats, what was that loud boom, is the power on/off, need a person that does xyz but don’t want to pay a lot...and I could go on and on

It’s the type of shite the Karen’s and old people chat about all day long on Facebook.

I always laugh when my mother in law dislikes something that someone did. She will always say “well I just wouldn’t follow them on Facebook anymore” as if that’s the ultimate gut punch to their mental state

The combo prog/humble-brag/virtue-signalers rule mine.

"We had a little party for my one-year-old and have leftover beluga caviar and some other gourmet catered food. What is the best way for me to use these leftovers to serve our neighbors who are experiencing homelessness in this day and age of hate and intolerance that I fight so hard against with my love trumps hate stickers and this here yard sign?"

This is why I pretend I don't have neighbors.

The sheer amount of missing or found pets always baffles me

Same stuff. Best is around 4th of July and New Year's Eve. Fireworks make people crazy.

Almost every person in my sister's bay area neighborhood has one of those either in their front yard or in the front window of their house.

There’s a 100 comment post about the Hard Rock in my neighborhood ND

Some highlights: it’s Latoya’s fault, it’s racist to blame Latoya, the blaming of Latoya is Trump’s fault, a sidebar about the OKC bombing and subsequent demolition, they should cancel Mardi Gras, City Hall protest...

Good stuff

my neighborhood FB group is far more active than the NextDoor group

all posts are basically

1) pet is missing/found
2) contractor recommendation
3) there is a black person walking around in the neighborhood

There is a billy badass that usually chimes in that he knows how to protect himself and keep from being a victim.

This is the same guy, public name and location, that set up a meet at a local restaurant so he could help educate other residents.

I pointed out that we now had his address and an open window when we knew he wouldn't be home. If there was a criminal reading he also volunteered everyone else's info and time.

All the businesses in the area have a version of that sign displayed as well. I think it's partially a "please don't target me - I'm one of you" declaration as well

Just the opposite...this one is tied up and not on the loose

Kind neighbors, please tell me what to do!! There is a puppy that has been tied up in a backyard around the corner from me. I’m pretty sure 24/7! It’s illegal to tie a dog like that and I plan to call animal control about it, not that I expect anything to be done. Corner of ***** and *****. If this is your dog, please speak to me about this.

Our yankee transplant neighbors a few houses down have that exact sign in their yard

Our latest bitch fest is about a private pool club they want to build here.
Some people love it and then the liberals and up in arms because it will be private and not everyone in town could afford to be members.

Lost dogs and bitching about the HOA...occasionally a picture of a tire with a nail in it blamed on home builders.

ETA...forgot about concerns about Amazon orders that show shipped on tracker, but aren't on porch. Convinced that it has been stolen only to discover that it was either delivered to a neighbor's porch...or it arrives 30 minutes after they post said rant.
